He looked fine the last time I saw him in January

Steelers already have had 5 RBs in for top 30 visits. What round will they take one? DL has to be 1st and no 2nd, sooo 3rd?
Gerry Dulac
11:14
Bingo! Though I have been told not to rule out 1st round, though I just don't see that happening. After not getting a top DL in free agency, they have to get one at the top of the draft. If not, it's the same old stuff....

Like it or not, is it now inevitable that the Steelers will sign Rodgers? Other options for both parties seem to be gone.
Gerry Dulac
11:14
It's apparent the Steelers are his only option. That, or retirement.

ARIi stated they wanted Wilson or JF back. Did he lie or change his mind?
Gerry Dulac
11:15
I'm not sure he ever said he wanted one of those two. What I believe he said was only one of the two could be re-signed, not both

Are there any penn state players the steelers might select in this year's draft ?
Gerry Dulac
11:15
I don't know that answer
Butch
11:16
Wouldnt the signing of ARod essentially be paying $30 million to lower our draft order?  Is this not bad business?
Gerry Dulac
11:16
Maybe it will raise their draft order

Hey Gerry - at this stage of the offseason, it’s too bad the Steelers can’t trade salary cap space for draft picks. What do you think of that as a proposed rule change? I wonder if it would make more teams competitive or lead to a dodgers/yankees situation in the NFL. Thanks -
Gerry Dulac
11:17
I think what the owners will think if it were presented as a proposal -- I don't like it
Linebacker Lounge
11:17
Safe to say Wilson must have ruffled some feathers to not bring him back for 5-10 million? Or MT’s more love and hope is for Rodgers?
Gerry Dulac
11:17
Russ did not ruffle feathers. He was liked and well-respected by all. Dedicated worker and professional. That's how he has survived and achieved to the level he has.

Any chance there was a verbal agreement to Rudolph for a legit chance to compete for QB1 this year or next? Why would he want to return?
Gerry Dulac
11:18
A two-year, $8 million contract is a deal backup QBs sign. He knows what's going on here

Sir,  who are your favorite DL prospects in the draft?  Which one should Steelers fans expect to be in the running to be their selection?  Thanks!
Gerry Dulac
11:19
Derrick Harmon. Kenneth Grant

Should have spent more money in FA (DL, CB, etc) and built around Rudolph for this year. What say you?
Gerry Dulac
11:20
They spent money on a CB (Slay) and backup safety (Thornhill), in case you've forgotten. But not getting a top DL was a big failure

Hi Gerry.  What do you think of the recent craze praising Khan for acquiring "talent" and then - a year later - flipping them for midround draft choices?  Wouldn't it be better to acquire talent and keep them because they're very good at what they do?
Gerry Dulac
11:20
That's the way the NFL operates these days, like it or not

Gerry, If I asked someone out for a date and she said "Let me think about it for three weeks," I'd get the message.  Why doesn't Mike?  And - for that matter - Art and Omar?
Gerry Dulac
11:21
Maybe she was waiting for what the date entails??

Gerry, the worst thing about Russell Wilson signing with the Giants is that our fair city has lost some of its beauty, as his gorgeous wife will no longer dwell here.  What a pity.
Gerry Dulac
11:21
There's that.
Ben
11:21
Hey Gerry, looking at the Wilson contract … wow! Did the Steelers not want him at all. I still don’t get what they were doing in the last few weeks of the season if they felt this way. I trust that they know what they have in their players on the roster, yet they continue to act as if they are a QB away from a Super Bowl... Or maybe they are diabolically banking cap space and comp picks for a big 2026 season? They’ll never publicly admit that 2025 is destined to be a bust.
Gerry Dulac
11:22
There are elements in your observation that are spot on

Hi Gerry.  If Wilson's audible use was the main reason for Smith not wanting him back, how did we get to Rodgers who will probably audible even more?
Gerry Dulac
11:23
That was not the main reason. But I have to think Rodgers will want to play his own way, which Mike McCarthy and Robert Salah each painfully discovered

Hi Gerry. We all know the Steelers need a young Cameron Heyward. We also know without a QB the Steelers aren't winning a championship. There are more and more "experts" who are getting on the Dart wagon although I've seen him compared from Bo Nix to Gardner Minshew. Do the Steelers see Dart as Nix or Minshew? What is your evaluation? Chances are Dart won't make it past the 2nd round.
Gerry Dulac
11:24
He is being damned with faint praise if he is being compared to Gardner Minshew. I can see the Bo Nix comparison. But people predicting the Steelers will take him at No. 21 overall better not wager the mortgage on that one, that's all I'm going to tell you
Beth
11:24
Hi Gerry, how will the signing of Russell Wilson with the Giants affect the Steelers’ draft plans?  Thank you.
Gerry Dulac
11:25
None. But, if Rodgers doesn't sign, expect to see the Steelers bring in a veteran on a one-year deal who will backup Rudolph
Bones
11:25
Hi Gerry, I'm skeptical that even with the draft, our O and D lines will be decent. What's your impression of how these lines will work out?
Gerry Dulac
11:26
The D-line needs the draft more than ever
Pittfan
11:26
Hi Gerry. Ray Fittipaldo thinks Rodgers has a 60% chance of signing with the Steelers. You're closer to the front office. What do you think the chances are?
Gerry Dulac
11:26
At this point, it appears to be the Steelers or retirement, so I think the chances are favorable

Gerry, I am struggling to understand the value of the Aaron Rodgers chase. If the Steelers were a QB away from the SB it would make perfect sense. Sadly, they are not. This feels like a one year rental designed to win a wildcard game. Aren't they wasting valuable cap space just to get the playoff win monkey off their backs?
