Gerry, I would like your thoughts on the Steelers free agency period to date and do you still see OL as the priority in round 1?
Gerry Dulac
10:02
I like all the moves they've made to bring in outsiders. And, yes, an OL -- either a center or right tackle -- is a round 1 option for them

10:02
Do you think the C from Oregon should be a priority before any OT on 1st rd?
Gerry Dulac
10:02
I do

Do you have any idea if the Steelers were able to talk to Fields about his role here before making the trade? I’m sure they don’t want to risk any more hostages.
Gerry Dulac
10:03
Yes they did. They told him what their plans are

Hi Gerry - I’m sure there is a “plan” but with no real center on the roster, I would assume the team will be drafting one pretty high. Outside of the draft, what is the possibility of Connor Williams in FA? Do you know how he is recovering from his knee injury? If healthy, he would be a great signing
Gerry Dulac
10:04
Correct. They need a starting center, preferably one who can stick around for a long time.

Were you impressed any by Russell Wilson's throwing video last week? Looks like he has some zip on the ball I wasn't sure about. The palm trees looked great too!
Gerry Dulac
10:05
I didn't watch, nor am I interested. I'll see plenty of that at OTAs and training camp

Hi Gerry. Do you know how the Steelers plan on handling Justin Fields' contract after this year? Do they chance allowing him to reach free agency? Possible they try a Jordan Love deal?
Gerry Dulac
10:06
I think your final question is most likely. They will not exercise his fifth-year option, not at $22.6 million

Good Morning Gerry... Thanks for your time... Coach T seems pleased with the acquisition of Fields.. His appreciation for his skill set is pretty well documented.. If fields is seen as the potential future at the position, what do you see as the odds the organization signs Fields to a "Show me" contract prior the start of the season?  Cheers..
Gerry Dulac
10:07
Well, there is a chance he could be signed to an extension rather than picking up his option, but I'm not sure it will be a show-me contract because he might not get a chance to show them if Wilson plays well and doesn't get hurt
Done for Now
10:07
Do you expect the Steelers to keep adding before the draft, or are they done?
Gerry Dulac
10:08
Based on what they keep doing, I wouldn't say they were done. But I have to think their focus now is on the draft

Is Boyd still on the radar?
Gerry Dulac
10:08
Only in desperation perhaps
Joe
10:08
I have no idea why they are not getting Heyward to take a pay cut. If he won’t take one, then cut him. He’s 35 and no longer as good as he once was and certainly not worth $16 million. This is a business. What are they waiting for?
Gerry Dulac
10:09
Why, you footing the bill? I'll let them know you're getting antsy

Gerry, I remember that you were not real enthused when we drafted Kenny. At the time; I, like most Steeler fans, were exited about the pick. As I watched his career unfold I came to the realization that you were right! With that I’d like to know how you feel about the Fields acquisition? Does he have potential to be a future franchise QB or is he Kenny 2.0?
Gerry Dulac
10:10
He has a greater upside and a much better skill set than Pickett. But I don't know that he is a "franchise" QB. Franchise QBs don't win only 10 games in three years, I don't care where they play
Steve-o in Canton
10:10
If both QBs are healthy & play the majority of games, who do you see having the better 2024 season - Russ Wilson or DeShaun Watson?
Gerry Dulac
10:10
I'd say Joe Burrow
Zamo

Morning Gerry!  Really hope we go C/OT (in any order) with first 2 rounds and grab WR, DE, CB with day 2/3 picks.  Center is such an important cog and we desperately need a stud to anchor the line. If this teams philosophy is to run the ball and do it well, you need the horses up front!  I know we need a #2 WR but there are tons we can get in round 3 right?  Maybe I’m old school but I believe the big men on both sides of the ball need to be a priority.
Gerry Dulac
10:12
Zamo, they are not going center AND OT in first two rounds. One or the other, and they NEED a center. WR will come shortly thereafter
PSP Dude
10:12
Gerry, if JPJ is there at 20 would you run to the podium? Im thinking if the Steelers dont get a center in the 1st rd the others wont be there in the 2nd
Gerry Dulac
10:12
I tend to agree. But we'll see how long the kid from Duke lasts
Steve-o in Canton
10:12
When will your mock draft come out?
Gerry Dulac
10:13
I don't do a mock draft. I just do a prediction of who the first round pick will be, and that will be on April 25
Tony
10:13
How is it possible to give this offseason a grade anything other than an A?
Gerry Dulac
10:13
Agreed, with a capital A

There are a lot of stories out there about Wilson being aloof toward teammates at other places. Do you know if that was discussed with him or about what is expected of him as a teammate by either coaches or their veteran players on the roster?
Gerry Dulac
10:15
I've heard the same thing, too, but I don't think the Steelers were concerned with that at all.
Linebacker Lounge
10:15
I think most agree Sean Payton is an offensive mind. Paying Wilson 38 million to go work somewhere else, why are Steeler fans so optimistic ?
Gerry Dulac
10:16
That wasn't Payton's doing. That was the idiot GM and owner who agreed to such a ridiculous deal
Eric Carr
10:16
Gerry will Patterson essentially count as the #3 RB on the roster this Yr?
Gerry Dulac
10:17
Unofficially, probably. But they didn't even carry a third RB last year. Connor Heyward filled that role in an emergency
Linebacker Lounge
10:17
Everyone can say what they want, but Rudolph or Pickett were never given a chance to truly develop. Your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
10:18
Don't blame them for Pickett. His departure was all about him and his unprofessional attitude. As for Rudolph, he developed over five years. Fair to say their failure to believe in that was on them
