Who are the safety candidates to be signed in free agency for the Steelers?
Gerry Dulac
10:29
Hate to tell ya -- I don't know

In your opinion, who is the Steelers next starting Strong safety...Edmunds, another free-agent, a draft pick?
Gerry Dulac
10:30
If it were up to me, I'd re-sign Edmunds as long as he doesn't want to break the bank
Ken
10:30
Do you see any chance of the Steelers signing T. Mathieu to fully bolster this defense into a top 10 unit?
Gerry Dulac
10:31
That would all depend on Mathieu. But, with a big contract slated for Minkah, the Steelers are not looking to pay a sizeable amount for another safety. They're just not
Tom

Everyone thinks the Steelers need a DL. Heyward,Alualu, Tuitt start with Adams and Wormley as top backups. Loudermilk as young guy. I understand getting younger but where how much does a #1 DL pick play?
Gerry Dulac
10:31
Anywhere he wants

do you see the Steelers trading Devin Bush and signing and drafting an ILB?
Gerry Dulac
10:31
Nope
Tom
10:31
If a top corner is available in first can you pass on him?  Is that the position with the least top end talent on the team or OT?
Gerry Dulac
10:32
I would and you better hope they do. Their history of drafting CBs is abysmal. Don't tempt it again

Hey Gerry. All this talk about QB's now, and how the Steelers might take one in the 1st round. What do you say the odds are, they take a QB as the first pick? I think it would be well spent on the DL or WR.
Gerry Dulac

I say this is a refreshing question that smacks of insight

Morning Gerry! All this talk about Davis being a 2 down player is nonsense in my opinion. Have you seen that GA D?  They didn’t “need” him to be on the field all three downs and he obviously has the speed and strength to be a 3 down lineman. I hope for our sake other teams pass and we shore up that run D because Tuitt cannot be relied on. That’s a tricky area I know but we cannot rely on him or Tyson (at 35) and need to make this area priority #1. Not a QB who will sit for a year or a WR or CB (yikes). Do whatever it takes to get Davis!  Thx. Just my 2 cents
Gerry Dulac

Not arguing at all. But I'm afraid the Ravens, at No. 14, would take Davis because he is a Ravens' type player if there were one -- big unmovable body for the middle of their DL

Is safety (or hybrid safety) right up there with DL on the list of position groups to be targeted in 1 if the qb's don't fall?
Gerry Dulac
10:34
Not at all

Still wondering why the Steelers didn't make more of an effort to bring back JuJu. The $ the Chiefs gave him wasn't that much. He's proven to be a valuable player (good hands, great in 3rd-and-medium situations, leader in lockerroom). Was his decision more of a reflection of Steelers' QB situation?
Gerry Dulac
10:35
He indicated early on that would factor into his decision. He is looking to rebuild his stats and become a big-ticket WR in 2023. What better place than with Mahomes.

With many considering this a "week" quarterback class, if the Steelers decide to pass on a passer this year, who might they target next season, assuming we draft in the middle of the pack?
Gerry Dulac
10:35
Hey, Slowjay, slow down. I'm lucky I know this year's QB class
Tom
10:35
Shouldn't the Steelers realize they have two quarterbacks picked in the  1st and one with (supposedly) a 1st round grade on their team. I think that alone should keep them from picking a qb in round #1 this year. Just because a guy is picked early doesn't mean he is going to be good. If a guy isn't a sure thing why pick a QB like Willis or Pickett?
Gerry Dulac
10:36
Bingo...hold your cards!
Wayward
10:36
Gerry, Edmunds, F/A or draft pick, which way do you think the Steelers will o?
Gerry Dulac
10:36
FA and draft a SS on third day
Tom
10:36
Edmond, How about Joe Haden? You can never have enough corners Maybe he won't take a big cut but I doubt he will retire either.
Gerry Dulac
10:37
He is still a possibility to come back, but not as a strong safety. Not big enough
Jay Daven
10:37
Gerry, which QB will go first in the draft? Would the Steelers make the wrong pick if they select a QB who’s still available at 20?
Gerry Dulac
10:37
Yes they would
Ok kids, that's all the time we have today. Thanx for the questions
