Hi Gerry, in honor of Aprils fools who's the funniest Steeler you've interviewed?
Gerry Dulac
11:18
Shar Pourdanesh, if you remember him.

Gerry thanks for the chat as always I look forward to it. Do you think the Steelers O-Line will be up to the task of protecting #7. Roethlisberger is the fifth most sacked QB all time at 477 in 14 seasons. Thanks again.
Gerry Dulac
11:19
Yeah, but he has also been sacked the fewest times of any QB the past 4-5 years. So...yes

I would like to go RB, WR, and OL in that order with our first 3 picks. What do you think of Dillion as a RB?
Gerry Dulac
11:20
I don't argue with your order of selection, but Dillon is not the type of RB they need or want. They want someone with speed -- Cam Akers for example. Dillon not that guy.
Kyle
11:22
Assuming the pick in 2nd round is a WR and the Steelers look to target a RB with the 3rd round pick, who are the RB's that may be available that the Steelers should consider?
Gerry Dulac
11:25
Maybe Joshua Kelly UCLA. Antonio Gibson of Memphis is a dual-threat playmaker as RB/WR. Third round might be a little high for Anthony McFarland of Maryland, but he has serious speed/playmaking ability.

What are your thoughts on the draft dates staying put?  I know several gms wanted it pushed back.
Gerry Dulac
11:25
I'm surprised they didn't push it back.

Question about Paxton Lynch: 1st round talent, arguably strongest arm QB on the roster, why did he fail in Denver and Seattle?  Was it work ethic? Just curious as what you have heard?  Feel Lynch can compete for not only 3rd string but main backup to Roethlisberger. Your take as well.
Gerry Dulac
11:30
Hey, I've been curious as well. I asked around if it had something to do with his ability to read defenses or not be committed enough and never got a convincing answer. But one thing I did hear several times is that those really tall 6-7 and 6-8 QBs like Lynch (McGwire, Osweiler) have mechanical issues where their long legs and arms get out of kilter when forced to move in and around the pocket. That's about the best I can tell you.

11:30
Hi Gerry...any thoughts about the Steelers taking RB Dillon from Boston College in the later rounds?
Gerry Dulac
11:30
See earlier answer
Matt
11:30
Gerry, love these and wish you had more of them! @49 I see Steelers taking RB. HBU?
Gerry Dulac
11:30
WR, tho RB won't shock me
Matt
11:30
Who do you see winning the QB3 spot? Lynch,Duck or Barrett?
Gerry Dulac
11:31
Not Barrett
Matt
11:31
Is Gentry good enough to be the 3rd TE?
Gerry Dulac
11:31
That's what we will find out in year 2
Matt
11:31
Who you starting at LG/RT?
Gerry Dulac
11:32
Wisniewski/Feiler
Matt
11:32
Is Alualu the starting NT?
Gerry Dulac
11:32
Right now he is. But that could and should change
Gil Phillip
11:32
Gerry - do you feel that Steelers are really “comfortable” with current backup QB’s on the roster? Will they either draft one or sign a veteran F/A? Thanks
Gerry Dulac
11:33
Not to replace Rudolph. Only way something like that happens is if, come July or August, they find that Ben is having problems and could miss more than anticipated. But there is no evidence that is or will be the case.
Matt
11:34
Is Ola the backup OLB at both spots?
Gerry Dulac
11:34
As of right now
TomnAZ
11:34
Your work greatly appreciated! Reasoning for requiring (as I understand the new CBA) the additional OL on the active roster?
Gerry Dulac
11:35
I guess because of the incidence of injury to those players. Also, if those guys start going down, the QB/RB is going to be in a lot more danger of being clobbered.

Jerry As a PSU grad I keep hoping Marcus will get some playing time. What does he lack that is preventing him from getting there? It's certainly not size.
Gerry Dulac
11:37
No, its not, or athletic ability. I think they want him to be a little more committed to his job.  Heading into his final year at PSU, some scouts had him rated the best DB in the draft.
Mary Lynn
11:37
Gerry, hope you and your family are well.  I think Clay Matthews could provide a veteran presence in the linebacker corps and in the locker room assuming the Steelers could sign him for the right price.  Your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
11:38
Thanx. I think you answered your own question when you said..."assuming they could sign him for the right price." But I wouldn't have a problem of adding him for one season as a rotational backup.

Can you foresee a drastic reduction  of seating, and its impacts,  at Hienz and other arenas in order to maintain social distancing for the foreseeable future.
Gerry Dulac
11:40
Yes I can. But I also think you will see a drastic reduction in attendance in general, not just football stadiums, hockey and basketball arenas and golf tournaments, but movie theaters, operas, fitness centers and whatnot.
Jeff
11:41
thanks for the chats especially in times like these.  I like the Ebron deal, bug upside but worried he turns into a mini AB, what do you think?
Gerry Dulac
11:41
I think a bigger concern with Ebron is his penchant for dropping the ball.
Ralph LA
11:41
He was a disappointment but did Artie Burns make any progress while he was with the Steelers?
Gerry Dulac
11:41
Uh...well...hmmmm...let's see....None!
