Justin Fields had the Bears as the #2 rushing attack in the NFL last year - with an improved O line and Fields in on certain packages could the Steelers have a top 5 rushing attack this year?
Gerry Dulac
10:35
Don't be misled. That No. 2 rush attack ranked high because of Fields and all his rushing yards.

Good morning Gerry - can Russ still throw the deep ball with accuracy? He’s been one of the best in that category over the years.
Gerry Dulac
10:36
Yes he has been. And that's what we're going to find out. That rainbow throw of his is something to behold.
The Truth

Do you feel that the Steelers set Kenny Pickett up to fail with tripling down on the Matt Canada experiment, or that he did not do enough to maximize his opportunities? Who do you place the blame on more, the coaches or Pickett himself?
Gerry Dulac
10:39
I don't blame Pickett a lot for his performance because he's a young QB who is still learning. And it's easy to use Canada as the scapegoat, and rightfully so. But I think we saw what could happen with the offense when Mason Rudolph was the QB. But the Steelers didn't set Pickett up to fail, unless you consider the foolish decision to bench Trubisky at halftime of Week 4 and throw Pickett to the wolves.
7 year drought

Gerry, If the Steelers fail to win a playoff game for the 8th year in a row "should" Mike Tomlin be on the hot seat? We all know that he won't be, and will get an extension this summer, but when is enough enough?
Gerry Dulac

I think you answered your own question, but you are right

Hi Gerry, do you think the Steelers will announce Ben as one of the Hall Of Honor guys this year? Side note - he ‘should’ve’ been inducted after he retired and the 3 year window waved.
Gerry Dulac
10:40
Good question. Maybe another year for sure

If I use AI to replicate your writing style, what key words should I tell AI to mimic you?

Anything that sounds brilliant I suppose

Hi Gerry - in terms of centers, which of the top 3 or 4 will be best fit for Steelers?   Is there any other team with center as top need?
Gerry Dulac
10:42
I think there are only three on their radar -- Powers-Johnson, Frazier and Barton

What potential rookie WR would be the perfect replacement for the traded Johnson?
Gerry Dulac
10:44
Rome Odunze, but he will be gone.

What’s the best public golf course in Pittsburgh?  I come back home once a year and I’ve always wondered. I’ve lived in Louisville for 35 years.

Olde Stonewall. Cranberry Highlands. Cant go wrong

Hi Gerry, Judging from the visits, it looks like the Steelers are looking at 1st round tackles, 2nd or 3rd round receivers, a center from round 1 to 3, and a slot corner in round 3. Depends on who’s available at each pick. I think it would be smart going with a tackle or high end CB with the first pick to get maximum value at a top position. Do you think they should wait for a center instead of picking one at #20?
Gerry Dulac
10:45
Very perceptive. Their official visit  list should speak to you what they are seeking

Hi Gerry, I’m sure you’ve shared this before, but can you state your thoughts on drafting the best player available vs the best player a team needs? Example: drafting a center #20  even though there isn’t supposed to be a center “graded” that high.
Gerry Dulac
10:48
They only draft the best player available at a position of need. For example, they are not going to draft the best OLB if one is available because they don't need that. But, to your point about the center, if they don't have a No. 20 grade or higher on a center, it is unlikely they will pick him. However, what might come into play is they NEED a starting center and one of the ones they liked might not be there in the second round. That's why you might see a trade up in the second round.

Latham or Mims at 20

Hi Gerry I just don't understand why go tackle  first round and not center because that to me seems to be the biggest problem

Hello . I don't know what exactly happened in picket case but what does it exactly say about colbert/Tomlin as evaluators ? Kid literally grew in their backyard. And what does it say about Khan / Tomlin? They gave 6 million to kick returner Pedersen but they could not match 3.6 million that Rudolph got from Tennessee . Thank you very much .
Gerry Dulac
10:52
Well, the fact Pickett was merely the best of an average QB class has proven to be true. And the Steelers (and Rudolph) weren't interested in a deal once Wilson was signed.

You said last week that Tomlin does not report to Khan.  I assumed that when Tomlin took part in the interview process.  Is that unusual for an organization?  Did Cowher take part in the hiring search for Clobert?
Gerry Dulac
10:56
I'm sure he did. But, just like with Tomlin, it was not his decision to hire Colbert. That comes from the owner

which of our two departing qb's will make the Steelers wish they had woke up and realized what they had ?
Gerry Dulac
10:56
I don't think it will be the guy in Philly.

Still not clear on rule changes regarding the Kick off, How will these changes reduce injuries?  Don't see it?
Gerry Dulac
10:57
Coverage players won't get the running start like before, resulting in fewer big collisions

Another frequent topic is trading down, like it’s easy to do.  First, another team has to want to trade up, plus the Steelers need to be confident that the player(s) being considered will still be available, as well as agreeing on the terms of the trade. Doesn’t seem easy to me, maybe that’s why they’ve done it once in the first round in the past 20 years?
Gerry Dulac
10:57
You're right, not as easy as it seems.

Seems all the chat hosts get the same question over and over, what player or position do the Steelers draft at 20?  Apparently it doesn’t occur to them that it depends on who’s available at the time?

C'mon...really??
