Gerry, I'm a 79 grad from MASH with sis Terri, I hope that she is well ! QUESTION: Any chance the Steelers will re-sign Steven Nelson since no-one has signed him yet ?
Gerry Dulac
11:45
I think Nelson falls into that category I referenced earlier -- teams will wait until after the draft to see what they have or don't have. Then, players like Nelson will sign with a team at that point. But I don't expect it to be with the Steelers.

Harris and Etienne are off the board in  Round 1, do the Steelers take Williams at #24 or go OL at that spot?
Gerry Dulac
11:47
Depends what type of grade they have on Williams...I can't answer that. But, if the other two are gone on your scenario, maybe they feel they can't afford to not get at least one of the three

Why would the Steelers want Jesse James back ? Just a so so blocker at best and slow as molasses.

I'll let them know you disapprove

When Ben is under Center he gets a lot of batted down passes...  could that be a contributing reason for the shotgun majority?
Gerry Dulac
11:48
Has nothing to do with it. And Ben is rarely under center

Where does the concept come that someone out of the draft can start right away over the athletes with actual NFL experience?  One always reads about how rookies have to adapt, they have to learn the speed, get stronger, playbook, etc... however then you read that guys on the roster (that has all that) can be easily replaced by a rookie.  Point being at left tackle - is a college kid with no NFL experience THAT much better than experienced NFL options?
Gerry Dulac
11:49
That's today's NFL world. Teams no longer use a first-round pick on a guy they expect to sit and learn. Even the Steelers, who long held the belief that a player needs to sit and learn, now expect their first AND SECOND round picks to come in and be big contributors, if not starters

It seems like the Steelers have signed a lot of those "camp body" types this year like you mentioned. Is it more than usual due to the tight cap and trying to find talent, or are us fans just paying more attention to it this year but they always sign a bunch of guys like this?
Gerry Dulac
11:52
A little of both. But the flattened cap is a big reason

Good Morning Gerry. Any idea as to when the NFL will release the 2021 schedule? thanks.
Gerry Dulac
11:52
Should be right around the draft

In every draft there are future hall of famers in the 4th thru 7th rounds.  Who is your blue chipper in these rounds?

Bruce Arians talking about how he may be willing to draft a QB this year. Think he works any magic with his old team to flip a couple picks our way and move up from 32 to 24? Or is Pittsburgh the last team in the league he'd want to trade with?
Gerry Dulac
11:53
Nope

Dobbins and Taylor were very successful second round picks last year. How do Harris and Etienne compare to them?
Gerry Dulac
11:55
That's just more proof that NFL teams don't value RBs in the first round. So, when people ask me in the chat what if all three are gone at No. 24, or two of the three are gone at No. 24, that likely isn't going to happen. I wouldn't be surprised if no RB was picked by the time the Steelers have their turn. With few expectations, that has been the trend.
11:56
And, with that, that's all the time we have today kids. See you next week
