Where would you rank Ben among the other starting quarterbacks in the AFC North?  Plenty seem to want to write him off, but his numbers indicate that Jackson, Mayfield, and Burrow still have a ways to go.
Gerry Dulac
11:12
Let's see.... Ben 3 Super Bowls; Jackson, Mayfield, Burrow combined...NONE! Ben 13 playoff victories; Jackson, Mayfield, Burrow combined....TWO.

Hi Gerry, love the chats. Don't you think before we write off the Steelers OL, we should give the young guys a fair chance? Dotson did well last year. I heard Banner had the best camp last year out of all the OL men. Maybe the young guys will give this team a spark?
Gerry Dulac
11:14
It's hard for a line to two of three Pro Bowlers and expect them to be better. But iit's time to move on. I think Dotson will be more than fine at left guard. But Banner has just one start at tackle in his career, so it's still uncertain how he will develop. But, yes, give them a chance

ZALATORIS!?  Well done my friend.

Hey Gerry, I really like the idea of getting an RB and an OL wirh our first two picks. Thinking trading back to a later 1st rd
Gerry Dulac
11:15
Only if they can move WAAAAY up in the second round

Najee Harries doesn't excite me much. If Harries didn't have Alabama OL, I don't think he would be a 1st round prospect. What do you think?
Gerry Dulac
11:16
That's what we'll find out

Some rumors that Avery Williamson will be back, have you heard anything we have not about this? He seems to have good skillset to be a sub/backup for Bush or better than Spillane beside Bush against pass oriented teams.
Gerry Dulac
11:21
I like Williamson, he's more than a quality backup. But they need help at the other ILB position. And I don't expect him to be re-signed, certainly not now. He's one of the players you look at after the draft when you see if you still have holes on your team
Ryan
11:22
Good afternoon Gerry what do you think about the Steelers maybe drafting damar Hamlin from Pitt go Steelers and who is replacing Vince Spillane or a draft pick
Gerry Dulac
11:22
I don't see that happening at all. And I think they need more of a thumper at ILB to replace 98

11:22
With a projected RB taken high in the draft, can you foresee a 1000+ yard rusher in 2021?
Gerry Dulac
11:23
You chat name says it all....

11:23
Hi Gerry, thinking that trading our #24 pick for a later first round pick and a higher 2nd rounder might be a good idea, still allowing us to get one of the top 3 rbs, thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
11:23
Sure, if you can find someone willing to do that and you don't drop down too far in the first round

Hello . Thank you as always for the chat . I read an Avery Williamson tweet Monday hinting at returning to Steelers and it has been crickets since that tweet . Do you think he is coming back ? Thank you very much
Gerry Dulac
11:25
Look, anything is possible, but, at this point, that would surprise me. But he is better than anything they have other than Bush.

Depends what type of offense you want to run

I read an alarming post the other day.  Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game 2011.  I appreciate the consistency at head coach, but a 10 year early exit warrants at least a hot seat right?
Gerry Dulac
11:28
That is not true. He has won three since 2010 Super Bowl, though one of those was against the Dolphins with a third-team QB and another against the Bengals thanks to the stupidity of Burfict and Adam Jones

If all three RBs are available at 24, do you think the Steelers try to trade back a little to get an extra pick and still get an RB, or do you think they prefer one of the three enough that they wouldn't want to possibly miss him?
Gerry Dulac
11:30
Good question. It depends the grade they have on each player. If they have them all graded basically the same, maybe they move back. If they have on graded significantly higher than the others, they take him to not risk losing him.

I was referencing Steelers signing 1 yr contracts for team, do you feel any one of them viable for the team, IYHO??
Gerry Dulac
11:33
Ahhhh...Every player they have signed as an outside FA is for depth. There is not a for-sure starter among them. But, of those guys, the one I like the most is RB Kalen Ballage. I like this size and speed. I think he has a good chance to be a contributor

Hi Gerry. No question, just a thanks. I used your Masters recommendations last week and won $100 in a Masters pool. That Zalatoris tip was pure gold.
Gerry Dulac
11:33
Glad to oblige!

11:33
Do you think there is a chance the tackle from USC slides to our pick and if he does would you take him over a RB
Gerry Dulac
11:36
I doubt he will, but maybe. Depends on the run on OTs because there always seems to be one. I like Vera-Tucker, but their intention to fix the running game puts a very big premium on a RB. They at least have tackles they can use. They do not have a No. 1 RB

11:37
Gerry....why are we seeing videos of claypool working with rudolph and NEVER a video of ben throwing or getting his wr's together.......... For a guy that has his work ethic questioned constantly..it would be nice to see him change this offseason.
Gerry Dulac
11:37
I haven't seen any. You know why? Because it doesn't mean anything in April.

What rd. do you see UofBuffalo RB  Jaret Patterson going in? Eye popping numbers!
Gerry Dulac
11:39
I don't know, maybe the third round. But I know he is on one person's draft board
Doug
11:39
True or false....ben's last throwing session was in january in the wild card loss................. GET OFF the couch 7 if we are going all in
Gerry Dulac
11:39
Relax. You, not Ben. I think he knows what he's doing.

Not sure what Ballage signed for, but Connor went to AZ for PEANUTS.  Was there really no interest in keeping him here?
Gerry Dulac
11:44
Ballage signed one year for $920,000. And I've said many times here the past month or two in our chats, the Steelers want to fix their running game. It started with the coaches, and it would include changing the scheme, technique and PERSONNEL. You shouldn't be surprised. And, for the last time, correct....they had no interest in bringing him back.
