Gerry: Happy Draft Eve and thanks for all the efforts in the build up.  You have been the only insider that has put Kenyon Sadiq on the radar.  If he were the pick what do you think happens from there?  Do they move him to WR?  He doesn't seem to have the quickness or body control for that despite his 4.39 speed.  Do they look to trade Friermuth or Washington? This pick just makes little sense to me.  Seems like Jonnu Smith part 2.
Gerry Dulac
10:02
They do like him a lot, though I'm not sure they would pull the trigger on him at No. 21 -- if he's there. But I will tell you he will cause them to have a discussion if he is there. And he is not Jonnu Smith.

Happy Wednesday Gerry! I am glad the PG Situation was solved and wanted to thank you all for the incredible work you do day in day out! THANKS

Thanx!

Whats the odds steelers trade an edge before the weekend is over?
Gerry Dulac
10:03
That would depend how far they would be willing to go up in the first round. That move might require more than just swapping 1s and giving up a No. 2

Gerry, if you had to put a % on influence Omar had on draft picks the last few years vs. this year, what would it be?
Gerry Dulac
10:03
49%

Gerry: there are some who think McNeil-Warren will be the pick at 21.  A MAC safety who ran 4.52 at pick 21?  Yikes.  Would this make sense to you?
Gerry Dulac
10:04
No because they already have two box safeties who are thumpers, which is was EMW is known for

Gerry, would the Steelers be better off holding onto all 5 of their top 100 picks in order to fill more holes (i.e. WR, OL, DL, LB, DB) versus trading up in the 1st round?  I know it likely depends how the board plays out. I’d trade the 4th rounds picks but hold onto these top 5 picks. What are your thoughts? Thanks.
Gerry Dulac
10:05
No. They stockpiled these picks for a reason -- to give them the flexibility to improve their draft position.

Gerry: I am rooting for a trade up for Lemon.  Were hais interviews really that bad?  I will say your Friday headline writes itself that way and in hindsight was appropriate most years from 2013-2023, "Steelers draft a lemon".
Gerry Dulac
10:05
Haha...clever. The Steelers don't share the same opinion about Lemon.
Dennis
10:05
In your expert opinion Gerry. Will the Steelers make all 12 picks, and if not what rounds do you see them trading up in?
Gerry Dulac
10:06
Nope. And if they do, shame on them. They don't need quantity, they need quality. That's why they stockpiled them in the first place.
Rooney
10:06
Safety, 2 WR, OL , DT, TE and ILB with first Severn picks through the 4th round. Do you agree? Ty!
Gerry Dulac
10:07
I'd swap CB for ILB, otherwise, looks good to me.

Hey Gerry, I’m wondering if the delayed announcement about Rodger’s status is a head fake to make other teams think the Steelers will take a QB in the draft.  If a team behind them wants a QB  it would be a good opportunity to trade down and pick up some 2027 picks.  Is this possible?
Gerry Dulac
10:07
No head fake. And any trade made will not have anything to do with Rodgers

Hi Gerry,  With the latest setback to Jones do the Steelers draft a guard and a tackle somewhere in their first 5 picks/3 rounds?
Gerry Dulac
10:09
I will tell you the Steelers have extended their draft options to "offensive line," meaning it's not just about a guard. Keep this in mind, too: If it's a tackle, they can always move Fautanu to guard, something they've thought about since he was drafted.

Hi Gerry, Do you think Steelers possibly take Beck in the second round as opposed to the third. I think he may turn out to be starter material he reminds me of Rogers the way he handles himself. I like him.
Gerry Dulac
10:10
I don't think the Steelers are taking any QB till the third round, and maybe the third day. I don't know how long Beck will last.
Vryton
10:10
Hey Gerry we all know that Pittsburgh isn't going to make 12 picks through the draft. It just isn't feasible at all so do you think trying to trade up at least to get down to eight or nine possibly?
Gerry Dulac
10:11
Absolutely

Considering both this year’s starters and rotational/package players--and next year’s roster with regards to ending contracts, player age, etc.--approx. how many roster slots need or will need a meaningful talent upgrade? (trying to put some context around how many starter-quality/significant contributor hits the Steelers need from this draft)
Gerry Dulac
10:12
Mark, I can't project next year when they haven't even settled on this year. Too many variables in play

Good Morning Gerry,  Very Happy everything worked out with PG.  Question, if, and I think it's likely the steelers draft a QB, is Mason Rudolph on the team in Sept? This question of course, assumes Rodgers agrees to comeback.  Which I guess is a question. Too.  Lol
Gerry Dulac
10:13
You answered your own question. But, if Rodgers comes back, and the Steelers draft a QB, how likely do you think it is they will keep two QBs who have never played an NFL game as their only backups? Right, not likely

Hi Gerry Vry from south Georgia here .I'm hearing a lot of noise about Highsmith's name floating around as a trade candidate during the draft. With Highsmith closing in on 30 and Herbig deserving of playing time do you think that's plausible? I know they are still in win now mode but I just can't see them being able to extend Herbig as well as keeping Watt and Highsmith .
Gerry Dulac
10:17
I don't know about plausible, but I think anything's possible. But I will tell you that, right now, the Steelers think Highsmith is their best all-around edge guy. They want to re-sign Herbig, but I think the only way that happens if they move on from 56 or 90. Otherwise, why would he re-sign when he could get a bigger dollar number in free agency? OLB is the second-most important position on the team and the Steelers have great proven depth with those three guys. Eventually, something will happen, but it doesn't have to be now

Why isn't Mike Shanahan in the HOF? He won two SBs and left a legacy of pretty good coaches including his son and the Kubiak kids.
Gerry Dulac
10:18
Agreed. But, with these new voting rules, it's gonna be hard. Look what happened to Belichick. How about Holmgren?
Vryton
10:18
Hi Gerry what do you think about Eckley or Stonehouse for competition at punter in the late rounds for Johnston or possibly Wetjen to boost the return game ?
Gerry Dulac
10:19
Wasted picks
Vryton
10:19
Hi Gerry it seems it's possible the Steelers take a stab at QB on day three. If Rodgers comes back who do you see as the odd man out in that scenario?
Gerry Dulac
10:19
V, see earlier answer. Two "rookies" as backups?? I doubt it
