Do you think the ambiguity about Rodgers is part of a strategy to keep other teams guessing about the Steelers plans for QB in the draft? It’s hard to believe they would go in to the draft not knowing.
Gerry Dulac
10:20
Not at all. I think it's about Rodgers being Rodgers
Barry
10:20
Hi Gerry- With the abundance of WR prospects in this year's draft, I don't understand why the Steelers wouldn't consider a defensive lineman with their 1st pick. IMO the team needs to continue to rebuild up front. Your thoughts? Barry
Gerry Dulac
10:21
They will consider other positions in the first round -- S, CB and OL -- but not DL. Not enough good first-round prospects. But they would like to draft another DL, just not that high.

Gerry, do you anticipate any changes in the sports dept depth and coverage with new PG ownership?
Gerry Dulac
10:22
That's what we're going to find out. I will tell y'all this -- sports is the engine that drives the PG website. And I think y'all know which team provides the horsepower for that engine.

Hi Gerry, I saw some punt return tape on Wetgen from one of the Iowa schools, he looks unstoppable as a returner and a whole lot of fun to watch as a receiver also.
Gerry Dulac
10:23
Not sure if he's in their plans

what are the chances Rodgers is not the Steelers QB next year?

what are the chances Pickett is on a different team by the time the season starts?
Gerry Dulac
10:23
I think the Pickett scenario has a better chance

10:24
Gerry if Aaron rides off into the multicolored ayahuasca sunset, will the Steelers sign a veteran QB to compete for a starter or backup position? How did AR2 maneuver the team into this position?
Gerry Dulac
10:25
They are not anticipating that. But, if that happens, in the immortal words of Scooby-Doo, "Rut-row."

Can you give us a hint as to which receivers the Steelers are targeting in R1 if available? Are there any that are widely considered R1 prospects that they do not like?
Gerry Dulac
10:33
Tate and Lemon would be the top desirables. Cooper, Boston among the options
Tyler C
10:33
Which prospects do you think the Steelers like enough to trade up for?
Gerry Dulac
10:36
There are probably three -- Caleb Downs, Carnell Tate and Makai Lemon. Downs and Tate would require a big move. I don't think they would trade up for Fano or Ioane

The QB plan for 2027 season should be free agent Baker Mayfield.  Go with Howard and Mason this year.  Tell Rodgers he’s expired and move on.
Gerry Dulac
10:36
I think they are done with the veteran QB thing

Hi Gerry it seems if there is a run on a certain position in the opening round it could force the Steelers to trade up or pivot to a different position. I think it could either help or change their plans. If it's receiver then one of the better online prospects could land in their laps and then they could use some of those 3rd round picks to move up for a receiver in the 2nd round.Your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
10:38
That's not far-fetched. There are runs in every first round -- they are usually at edge rusher and OL -- and the Steelers will be waiting to see when it will start. So, yes, it can affect what they do and possibly present the scenario you describe. I will be very it not extremely surprised if they end up using all three third-round picks

Gerry, the oddsmakers have basically foretold a safety is NOT in the cards. However, it seems that’s assuming The PSU Guard and Omar Cooper are there. If they aren’t, who would be the next target?
Gerry Dulac
10:40
I will tell you they like Emmanuel McNeil-Warren from Toledo. I will also tell you they haven't used a No. 1 pick on a non-Power 5 Conference player since Ben Roethlisberger

Would you say there’s a 0% chance of the Steelers selecting Ty Simpson late 1st or early 2nd?
Gerry Dulac
10:40
Yes

Is there any smoke with either of the Oregon guys? Sadiq and Thieneman.
Gerry Dulac
10:41
They love 'em both
Mel Sniper
10:41
are the Steelers gonna move up to tampas spot and pick Lemon?
Gerry Dulac
10:41
Not sure where, but they might have to go at least that high to get him

Chances the Steelers draft a qb in any round above or below 50%?
Gerry Dulac
10:42
I'd say above 50%, but not before the third round and maybe not until day 3.

Thoughts on signing Herbig to a contract now, knowing it will be expensive, and then trading one of the LBs next year to move up?
Gerry Dulac
10:44
I don't think Herbig wants or needs to sign a new deal now until he knows one of the two players in front of him are gone. The Steelers would have to give him a big deal to keep him from waiting to test the FA market. And that's tough to do for a backup when you're already paying 90 and 56 big numbers.
Mel Sniper
10:44
Am I wrong to think the Steelers hold the cards on whether Rodgers comes back? I feel they have ever since the off season started and that their plan is to see how the draft unfolds before letting Rodgers know what they wanna do.
Gerry Dulac
10:45
No, I think they are expecting him to come back. Money is not an issue. Nor is Rodgers possibly signing with another team. He is coming here or he is retiring. I don't think either side holds any cards.
Eddie D
10:46
What’s more likely, a trade up in the first round to grab a guy like Lemon? Or stay at 21, and trade up into the 2nd and have (2) 2nd rounders. I think a win - win would be -
Gerry Dulac
10:46
I think both can be true
Tyler C
10:46
Is there any possibility of the Steelers using the boatload of picks at their disposal to trade back into R1 for a second selection on night one?
Gerry Dulac
10:47
Of course there is. And that's where those three third-round picks come in. And maybe -- maybe -- a player
Eddie D
10:47
Gerry, you the man.
Gerry Dulac

You the man for saying so
