Not especially, unless for some reason he has to handle a rookie QB. Otherwise, it will be basically be the same plan for Rodgers and/or Rudolph

Would drafting Sanders at 21 finally be the beginning of the end for Tomlin?
Gerry Dulac
11:13
Not sure even that would be enough

Will Tyler Shough be a Steeler?  Consider him an upgrade vs Will Howard?
Gerry Dulac
11:14
Possibly. You'll know by Saturday

Gerry, thanks for the chat.  I'm about done talking the draft & about Aaron Rodgers, the Hamlet of Steelers football (to be or not to be?).  Let's get the s*** over with and move along to camp already.  It's all a bit much at this point.  What say you?
Gerry Dulac
11:14
Camp? How about the regular season?

Gerry: you've been calling for a round 1 DL for years, but if they really have 1st round grades on Dart and Sanders, can they afford not to take a QB if either is available?  There is a lot of uncertainty around the '26 QB class.  Everybody talks up that class sort of like how Shedeur was hyped until he went fully under the microscope.
Gerry Dulac
11:15
Yes they can

Hey Gerry. Thanks for the chats. I feel like draft season is the time that the biggest smokescreens are put out there by front offices. I have a feeling the Steelers have done that with Shedur Sanders and actually favor either Dart or even another prospect they hope to fall. Is that your belief as well or is the hype real?
Gerry Dulac
11:16
I don't think they are approaching this draft with the hope of a player falling. Of course, that could happen and they wouldn't complain. But they are prepared to take a player they believe will be available at 21. They are not hoping that Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter or Tyler Warren will fall to them.

Good morning Gerry and thanks for the chat. Better odds? The Steelers taking a 1st round QB or a LIV golfer wins the Open Championship?
Gerry Dulac

LIV/Open

Hey Art 2, instead of paying an apathetic, washed up quarterback millions, maybe you should hire a few legit assistant coaches with the money? And while you’re at it, spend a few bucks fixing up that subpar facility that the players dislike so much!
Gerry Dulac

I'll let him know

Hi Gerry.  Should Omar move back in Round 1 to add a pick in Round 2, how far back can he go and still get one of the three top DL?
Gerry Dulac
11:18
The Steelers are not actively seeking to get back into the second round. They have their No. 2 pick -- Metcalf. But, if the right deal would come along....

Hi Gerry. How much fake news do teams use the media to get out for them? For example, if ARII asked you to put something out there to get other teams off their scent would you do it? I ask that because you're wrong a lot and I have to think that's on purpose because of your connection to the Steelers.

I am not enamored with Sanders as the right fit for the Steelers, nor selecting him in round one. Gerry, is he really the player the Steelers will select if available at #21?
Gerry Dulac
11:19
I think you might be answering your own question.

Best as you know, how much effort does the Front Office put into their own Mock Drafts, and/or reference any other Mock?  Seems to me it's a fan/media fascination and instead the FO expends their efforts into their Board (independent of who other teams *might* draft) and simply draft from it when on the clock?
Gerry Dulac
11:20
They put a lot of effort into their own form of mock drafts, which aren't the same as the ones you read. As for the ones you read, they put NO stock in those, other than for amusement purposes.

If they don't have a plug & play option alongside Cam on the DL they need another starter on the roster.  Not a prospect...but a legit starter.  Which means they either go stud DL 1st round, assuming one is available.  Or they hope for a starter to fall into their laps from another teams roster adjustments post-draft...which seems more than a bit precarious.  Which leads me back to the first option.  Or, the other option is to sit back, buy lots of popcorn and watch Lamar and Henry leave skid marks on our defense in '25.  Hence, its gotta be DL right?

Hi Gerry…Any word out and around as to who might replace the great Craig Wolfley in the Steeler radio booth?
Gerry Dulac
11:21
Yes.

If the Steelers wait until Round 4 to select a RB, do you believe that is a solid strategy + who of the RBs who may be available iyo should they target?
Gerry Dulac
11:21
I don't know they will wait that long.

Gerry  - after 4 undefeated Super Bowl wins and 2 SB MVPs, NFL MVP and HOF - are there plans to retire Bradshaw's number and celebrate his success with this organization in front of the fans that appreciate him more and more as time passes?  In your opinion should there be?
Gerry Dulac
11:22
Yes there should. He should be next after Franco, though I suspect it will be awhile

Why have the Steelers not had a coherent plan at Quarterback since Ben retired?
Gerry Dulac
11:22
They did. Kenny Pickett. And you saw how that worked out.

Supose all three of the top DLs are gone when we draft……what is the direction then?…
Gerry Dulac
11:24
I'm supposing you're not including Mason Graham in that group, otherwise it would be 4. Then it would be a RB or WR or maybe a safety from the Carolina region. But one of those three DL to which you alluding should be available.
Eric Carr
11:25
Gerry, which of these scenarios for the top 2 QB's do you think is most likely and which would be the best outcome: A) 1. Rodgers 2. Rudolph B) 1. Cousins for a low pick but assuming much of his salary 2. Rudolph C) 1. Carr for a mid Rd pick 2. Rudolph D) 1A Rudolph 1B Wentz or God forbid someone like Ridder E) 1. Rudolph 2. a #1 pick like Sanders or Dart or possibly a trade back and Milroe or Shough F) 1. Rudolph 2. a mid Rd developmental pick with the intent on going big in Rd 1 next Yr such as McCord, Howard, or Leonard. I know, you hate long questions but there are so many options! Thanks

Gerry, I think that with their first two picks the Steelers should take not one, but TWO defensive linemen. I think its easily their biggest weakness. What say you?
Gerry Dulac
11:25
I agree, but they don't have enough picks, including a No. 2, to do so.
KDUB

How do the Steelers tackle the defensive line position? Do they draft the best lineman available or do they prioritize a specific fit in their defense?
