How ironic -- you said tackle. That's how they address it.

Hi Gerry. There are only 4 players in this draft considered sure things (for whatever that's worth). I have seen most draft experts have Sanders as a better prospect than all 3 of the DL Steeler fans are clamoring for. Both QB and DL are the biggest needs for the Steelers. Do they take the highest rated player, Sanders or DL?
Gerry Dulac
11:26
They take the highest rated DL

11:26
% Chance that George Pickens is traded at some point during the draft?
Gerry Dulac
11:27
After acquiring Metcalf to get a legit and dynamic 1-2 combo, why trade him now and go right back to where you were?
The Truth

Do the Steelers need a running back as badly as some perceive? Jaylen Warren, I think, has the potential to be a really good starter. Do we need a high end RB, or more of a complimentary piece to Warren?
Gerry Dulac
11:28
I don't believe they think Jaylen Warren is a feature back. A very good complement, yes, but not the bell cow.

If the top 3 defensive tackles are gone when the Steelers pick, would you take a quarterback, running back or try and trade back?
Gerry Dulac
11:29
Depends who else is there. But, given your scenario, I might trade back to get a No. 3, maybe even a No. 2 if you can find a team dumb enough to give up that much. Then again, that's not difficult to find given the desperate nature of some teams

Hey Gerry,  some people cite the large number of running backs looked at by the Steelers as an indication that they will take one early.  I think just the opposite, that the large number means that they anticipate a somewhat picked over field when picking later and will need to choose from a depleted group of second tier backs.  Doesn't it make sense to look at a larger group when  the plan is to select one later in the draft?
Gerry Dulac
11:30
That's why they had a bunch of them in for visits. It's a deep crop this year

If we get new players, will it matter if we use the same restrictive, failing schemes ?
Gerry Dulac
11:30
It will...if they use them.
Please No
11:30
Gerry, I know it will be asked, multiple times, but for my own sanity, PLEASE, is this stuff about Steelers taking Sanders over DL if he is there, is this really a possibility? I know the talking heads think so, but I want to hear it from the Godfather. Talk me off the ledge, Sir.
Gerry Dulac
11:31
It will be fine to come inside, sit down and have a coffee (or something).

Good Morning Gerry, if you do not mind sharing, how do you plan on spending the draft this year? Home watching on tv?, social media live chat? or at the Steelers facilities trying to get live updates?
Gerry Dulac
11:31
Paul, I will be at the Steelers facility all three days, like I am every draft. Thanx for asking

Gerry, do you rent your abode out to any pros during US Open week to supplement your reportable(?) income?
Gerry Dulac
11:32
Nah. They can't afford it
Andrew Poni
11:32
The Steelers are not high on Will Howard. Does that sound accurate?
Gerry Dulac
11:32
Not at all. But they don't consider him a first-round selection
Andrew Poni
11:32
Gerry, if the Steelers DL of choice is not there, what is the more likely scenario: draft a WR or trade down?
Gerry Dulac
11:32
You forgot RB
Andrew Poni
11:33
Gerry, most mock drafts seem to indicate that either Sanders/Dart will fall to 21 OR no WR will be taken before 21. In these scenarios, would this make them draft a WR or QB in lieu of a DL?
Gerry Dulac
11:35
If McMillan were available, there might be a discussion. But the Steelers don't need a No. 1 receiver with Metcalf and Pickens around. My favorite is Emeka Egbuka, a perfect No. 2 receiver. Which is exactly what the Steelers think. Remember that

Hi Gerry. Any word about potential trade-back partners? If so, how far back do you think the Steelers would be willing to move? Into the second round?
Gerry Dulac
11:35
No. Why would the Steelers, who need at least one impact starter, move back into the second round?
Andrew Poni
11:35
Gerry, love the chats. Any update on 90 not being a happy camper?
Gerry Dulac
11:36
Never heard that

What % chance do you put on Steelers taking shadeur
Gerry Dulac

How low can I go?

11:38
Any chance Steelers would consider Malaki Starks if he fell?
Gerry Dulac
11:40
I'm sorry, did you say Nick Emmanwori??

Do the Steelers prefer Benton on the outside instead of NT?
Gerry Dulac
11:41
Depends who they draft? Don't forget, they never signed anyone to replace Larry Ogunjobi, which is just another reason they HAVE to take a starting DT

Are we extending Pickens
Gerry Dulac
11:41
Don't hold your breath
Kevin
11:41
Who are the players the Steelers are targeting in the first round and who they will eventually select?
Gerry Dulac
11:42
Three DL. Two RBs. Two WRs. A CB if a certain one falls. And a safety they love, though they don't need a safety

Gerry, you are the best! Do you think the Steelers are more likely to trade up OR trade down?
