Hi Gerry, can you give us one name that you think the Steelers would jump on if he slides and one name that you think is discussed in mocks that the Steelers will not pick?
Gerry Dulac
11:43
Darnell Wright. And then get a CB at No. 32.
Trades

I have a 2-part question, Mr. Dulac. First, if the Steelers trade up in round #1, who do you believe that they would target? Second, what percent chance do you think there is that the Steelers actually make the 32nd pick instead of trading it?
Gerry Dulac
11:44
To part 1 -- a CB. To part 2, if they don't get a CB on Rd. 1, I believe they will stand pat and get a CB at 32. They believe there will be still be CBs available at 32 who can be starters.

Do see the Steelers taking a or another corner after the 3rd round?
Gerry Dulac
11:44
Not if they take one at 17 or 32

Thanks for the chats Gerry.  I like the moves we have made so far but how long a leash do you think MC has if he starts out where he left off meaning no offense?  I would think a change would be made mid season but wanted your thoughts
Gerry Dulac
11:47
I think we found out last year, and probably every year, they don't make mid-season changes. But there is no question what MC can do in year 3 will be highly scrutinized (and/or criticized)

Gerry, thank you for the forum. It's apparent that the Steelers will be using high draft picks to fortify the OL & DL. CB/S is the 2nd tier priority due to the deep talent pool. I would like to see them add a LB or TE on day 3. Are these realistic expectations - I feel a QB on day 3 is a wasted pick, thoughts ?
Gerry Dulac
11:49
The wasted QB pick was last year when they took Chris Oladokun when they already had three QBs ahead of him. The kid stood no chance and was never given one. They draft a QB on day 3 this year, and they might, it's because they want him on the 53-man roster. Also, don't forget, Mitch Trubisky's deal runs out after the season. And, just because the Steelers said they want him around for a long time means he will be around beyond 2023.

Ok, take a quick break from the same draft questions and answer this unimportant question that I've been wondering about: When the Steelers play in Cleveland, do they bus or fly?
Gerry Dulac
11:49
Bus

Woody Hayes once said that Jack Nicklaus was a waste of a good fullback. What golfer currently on tour would've been a good NFL prospect  ?

Brooks Koepka = ILB

The success of the offense is predicated in Canada’s ability to effectively call plays. Why does anyone think that after 35 NFL regular season/playoff games and 6 preseason games that he will all of a sudden change his whole offensive philosophy and play calling? By retaining Canada, should Mike Tomlin be held accountable if the offense flounders and be on the hot seat?

Read the other day that Joey Porter Jr may fall and that teams quietly love Deonte Banks. Do you think Steelers would take Banks or Porter if it came down to it?
Gerry Dulac
11:51
It depends which other player(s) might be on their board at that point.

Love the chats. I saw Steelers hosted the big TE from UGA. Could he be an early target to pair with Freiermuth for two TE sets? He’s a unique player!
Gerry Dulac
11:52
Early as in 17? Not at all. 32? Maybe, but too many other needs. 49? Yes

It seems that the Jets want the same players the Steelers want, so if we trade up, it would have to be Chicago. What's the least we'd have to give up to trade to 9? (Hey, maybe Chicago would take Johnson in a trade? Then they'd have a matching set).
Gerry Dulac
11:53
I don't think the Bears want to get snookered again by the Steelers
Ok kids, that's all the time we have today. I see there are still many questions I couldn't answer. Sorry. 'Til next week...
