Gerry, I know you do not think Steelers should take QB in Round 1. However, if they do take QB at 1.20 who should they select in your opinion.
Gerry Dulac
10:51
I do not. Never have. To me it's a wasted pick. But, to answer your question, I'd say Malik Willis, only because he seems to have the most potential.
The GM
10:51
Gerry, what are the chances ARII allow Kevin Colbert to sell the farm and move up in the draft to select a QB? A QB that would clearly be nothing more than a project. I'm losing a lot of sleep the past few days.
Gerry Dulac
10:51
Absolutely none. And if they did that, someone should have their head examined.
Mike from D.C.
10:52
Hey Gerry, who would you take if both the Georgia DTs, Garrett Wilson, and Drake London are off the board at #20?
Gerry Dulac
10:52
Jameson Williams
Mike from D.C.
10:52
Hey Gerry, it seems Ray & BB have changed course to thinking the Steelers will pick a qb. Do you share this sentiment?
Gerry Dulac
10:59
I've said all along it wouldn't shock me if the Steelers draft a QB No. 1 after all the time they invested in scouting these quarterback prospects. And their preference is Malik Willis. The best thing that can happen is if Willis is already off the board at 20. Then that can draft what they really need.

What would surprise you to see tomorrow in the first round?
Gerry Dulac
10:59
If the Steelers drafted a quarterback. Not because they did, but because they ignored what they really need. And I think we all know what that is.

you still holding strong pittsburgh isn’t going QB in the first round after Tomlin and Colbert’s most recent pre draft press conference? They’re all in on Willis in my opinion which I’m all for!
Gerry Dulac
11:02
You are in the minority with your opinion, but that's OK. I never said they're not going QB. What I said is they are wasting a No. 1 pick if they go QB. They've spent too much time scouting and evaluating the QBs to think they wouldn't take one. But they will take one. It just might not be in the first round.

Do we draft an edge rusher this year to help out the guys we have?
Gerry Dulac
11:02
Nope
Kris
11:02
A couple of years ago the Steelers got a “steal in the 3rd” as they had a 1st rd grade on MR.
Do you think they will pick a 3rd rd QB in the 1st this year…?
Gerry Dulac
11:02
Haha. Clever clever!
Kris
11:03
I think signing DJ to a new deal now does not make sense because, while he may have been BR’s top WR, it does not mean he will be the top choice for MT/MR/?Rookie.
Maybe let him play out the year and tag him if they want to sign him to an extension or even tag/trade him instead of paying Big $$$, especially since this coming season will likely expose the foolishness of those massive WR contracts to some degree?
Gerry Dulac
11:03
Agreed. DJ is a very nice receiver. But he is not a No. 1 receiver who will command top money

The 4-letter network did a draft value analysis and ranked the Steelers 16th over the last decade in value based on success correlated to draft position, which helps explain the mediocrity, I am sorry I meant “challenge for SB’s every year…”
Seems like a group stuck in neutral at best, especially considering that a large amount of the Success was due to Ben, and not winning a playoff game in recent memory …
You?
Gerry Dulac
11:04
I think that four letter network is D-U-M-B

Gerry, who is most pleased, other than the merchants in Latrobe, about the Steelers going back to St. Vincent?  Do you think this venue or their practice facility is better than the other and why?
Gerry Dulac
11:05
Having training camp at Heinz Field is like having a hot dog without the bun.

Gerry, do you anticipate Kendrick Green being the guy at center or do you think the job will be James Daniel’s or mason Cole’s?
Gerry Dulac
11:05
James Daniels will be a guard, not a center. Cole will be the center. Green will go to guard.
Bubby, write it down

What a shame...I can't find a pen.

Hey Gerry! I really think we are looking at RT, DT, DE, Safety. What do you think of this draft:

  1. Safety - D. Hill, Michigan
  2. DE - P. Mathis, Alabama
  3. RT - Luke Goedeke, Central Michigan
  4. NT - Neil Farrell, LSU
Gerry Dulac
11:07
Where I agree with you is two defensive linemen in the first four picks, though not necessarily those two
MD
11:07
Gerry: HCMT stressed that he wants a QB that seeks competition.  Is that statement consistent with drafting Willis who, as third string at a big time football school like Auburn decided not to compete, but to transfer to Liberty?
Gerry Dulac
11:08
Pay the man!!

What is the latest round you think Pittsburgh takes a WR?
Gerry Dulac
11:08
Second at the VERY latest
Greg

Is there a wide receiver you believe the Steelers would choose over Jordan Davis if both are available at 20? And do you believe the Steelers would choose Davis over all of the quarterbacks, if he is available.  I think he and Stingley are the “dream options” if available.
Gerry Dulac
11:09
To your first question, no. And to your second question -- they should. They REALLY like Jordan Davis. Of course, what's not to like
Al Slinsky
11:09
Gerry- I know you’ve been adamant that the Steelers won’t take a QB in Round One. What are the percentages that it could happen, and how would you react to it if it did?
Gerry Dulac
11:10
You people don't read properly. I've never said they won't. I've said they shouldn't, that it's a waste of a No. 1 pick
Joe
11:10
If the Steelers pick a QB first, and I have not idea if they will, will you pan the pick or understand their logic?  I will hate it IF they trade up to do it.
Gerry Dulac
11:12
I will pan the pick because it doesn't make sense. It isn't what they need. They need WRs and young stud defensive linemen. Has anyone noticed how old they are getting on the D-line and no real quality backups to step in? Has anyone noticed the problems they have stopping the run? Has anyone noticed the one area of need they didn't address in free agency is defensive line? Ya think there's a reason for that??
