OK kids, we're going to start our chat is just a few minutes so get ready...
10:52
OK, here we go...

Everyone is assuming Williams is a lock to start.  If the nickel is now their base defense, why would Williams start over Bush or Barron?
Gerry Dulac
10:53
Nobody said he would.

Are the Steelers considering moving to a more power run offense?  It’s basically what the Patriots did last year against all these faster and smaller defenses.  Perhaps that’s why they drafted Snell who looks similar to Conner.
Gerry Dulac
10:53
I really don't think they are going to change their style of offense. What they have been doing has been pretty successful I would say

The steelers won the Super Bowl with a balanced offense and a solid defense the departure of AB should be good for the offense as it will distribute the load and make others step up I feel our chances this year are better than last year given the free agent and draft additions
Gerry Dulac
10:54
I would agree
JD
10:54
In your opinion why did the GM choose a receiver line johnson instead of a higher ranked receiver line Boykins?
Gerry Dulac
10:54
Uh, maybe they didn't have Boykins rated higher than Johnson. Doesn't matter what other people think

10:54
Are Steelers fans EVER happy? Ive actually seen multiple fans complaining wr gave up our 2nd rounder to teade up for Bush
Gerry Dulac
10:55
No they are not. But what they are is misguided
Fineline
10:55
Do you see the Steelers acquiring a veteran tight end who is a salary cap cut? I don’t like Goal Line Grimble as a number two.
Gerry Dulac
10:56
I think that is a very good possibility. And I think there is lot of wait-and-see with their No. 5 pick, Zach Gentry
MTScott
10:56
Do you think the Steelers will use VW more as a rotational sub for OLB now that we have Bush & Barron?
Gerry Dulac
10:56
I think he will play less than he ever did.

Good Morning. Love your chat.  Two part question for you. Do you think they would look at a free agent TE , considering the fact that Gentry is bit of a project?  Do you think that Steelers consider undrafted signings of  Askew-Henry out of WV or Locke out of Texas as a  legitimate chance of providing depth at Safety. Thank you very much.
Gerry Dulac
10:58
I think the TE question will be answered when they get a look at Gentry in OTAs minicamp and training camp. I think signing a veteran No. 2 is a good possibility and making Gentry No. 3. As for the safeties, sure they got a decent chance of landing a spot for depth.

Hi Gerry -  now that we are through free agency and the draft - what do you see as the Steelers biggest weaknesses remaining?
Gerry Dulac
10:59
None. On to the Super Bowl.
11:00
But, hey, that's what we're going to find out. I will say this, they have addressed more than adequately their biggest deficiencies -- CB and ILB -- on defense. I think the one area they didn't address in the draft was slot corner in the nickel
JerseySteel
11:00
Hi Gerry - who would be your prediction for breakout player on offense and on defense this year?
Gerry Dulac
11:00
Offense -- James Washington. Defense -- Terrell Edmunds.
Rosco
11:01
who will be the pick that will surprises most through the season.
Gerry Dulac
11:01
Diontae Johnson
JerseySteel
11:01
Hi Gerry - do you think Sutton Smith has a good chance to be productive at the NFL level at his smaller size or do you think he will be gobbled up by NFL tackles?
Gerry Dulac
11:02
He won't be productive at the line of scrimmage at his size. But I think he has a chance as an off-the-ball LB and special-teams guy
Charlotte John
11:02
Gerry, heading into the season, do you feel Cam Sutton’s arrow is pointing up or somewhere else?
Gerry Dulac
11:02
I think it's pointing just slightly north of west
JerseySteel
11:02
Hi Gerry - which picks in the 6th/7th round are you most excited about?
Gerry Dulac
11:03
I'm not excited about any of them. But Sutton Smith is the most intriguing
Kevin Cramer
11:03
Gerry, Had the Jets not taken the TE from WVU the pick prior, do you think the Steelers were interested in taking him there?
Gerry Dulac
11:03
I'm not sure, to be honest

Hi Gerry.  Tomlin, Colbert, and Art II have all said the right things about letting players get away with "stuff".  Do you think that they all can "walk the walk"?
Gerry Dulac
11:04
We shall see. That question applies mostly to Tomlin. It's his team

Gerry - Despite the Browns being the chic pic, I have to think the Stillers are still the AFC North favorites......the Browns are going to have to prove it.  The Ravens defense took some major hits and who knows about the QB situation there....that style of QB in Baltimore makes them very vulnerable to hits and injuries....who knows, McSorley may be under center for them at some point!  What do you think?  Thanks.
Gerry Dulac
11:05
I agree w everything you said. Let's see the Browns do it instead of everybody saying they could or might. Six wins to Super Bowl contender?? Uh....
Kevin Cramer
11:05
Gerry, In my biased eyes the Steelers are a business but try to do right by current and past players (honoring them, the way they have handled Shazier's situation).  Why would anyone listen to the BS Bell and Brown are putting out there?
Gerry Dulac
11:05
Because they are dumb (or dumber) than those guys, especially 84

Hi Gerry and appreciate your work.  Which ILB spot are Bush and Barron more suited to play
