That's what we're going to find out. Safe to assume Bush will begin in Jon Bostic's spot, but how they deploy him and Barron will vary depending on the defense they are using.

Could you see the Steelers pursuing Maxx Williams in free agency if Gentry doesnt look good in training camp?
Gerry Dulac
11:07
Possibly
Is it just me....
11:07
But why is there seemingly no concern about an offensive line that ranked 31st in league in rushing yds per game and which has lost a starter and got lip service with a 7th rd Draft pick that is probably a project, at best?  And we lost the “Guru” coach that apparently molded them into unstoppable steamrollers...sarcasm laid on thick.  If we could have run the ball more consistently last year we would have held on to a 4th Q lead or two and been in the playoffs, yet nobody

Your handle is correct....it's just you

With Edmunds and Davis starting at safety and Dangerfield and Allen backing them up, do you feel comfortable with that position?  I'm a bit worried if Edmunds or Davis go down we could be in big trouble.   Also, suprised the Steelers didn't draft one pretty high or at all.
Gerry Dulac
11:11
Well, you can't have great depth everywhere but it is certainly lacking a bit at safety. I thought they would draft at last one, especially in round 4. That's the only reason I don't like the RB pick at No. 4. I like Benny Snell the player, but I didn't think they needed to take a No. 3 RB that high. Safety would have made more sense there. But, then, that's me.

Do you think the Steelers will address Safety depth in the lead-up to Training Camp? Outside of Edmunds and Davis there seems to be a dearth of talent at S
Gerry Dulac
11:11
Maybe

I am not the most understanding of the salary cap, but it looks like the Steelers have less space than they will need to sign their draft picks.  Am I missing something, or is this normal?
Gerry Dulac
11:13
They have $3 million less after signing Ben to his new deal.

11:13
Should we expect some players to move positions in the secondary, considering the Steelers did not address safety or dimebacker in the draft? example: Marcus Allen?
Gerry Dulac
11:14
Marcus Allen will be one of those players they will move around. How, we shall see
Colin
11:14
Think we may look at a FA TE, OLB, or safety?
Gerry Dulac
11:14
Maybe a tight end. No OLBs

Hi Gerry, one drive to win you the super bowl who do you pick Ben or 'Mr Overrated' Aaron Rodgers? FYI Game Winning Drive score is Ben 42 MOAR 20...#ben4thewin :)
Gerry Dulac
11:15
That should answer your question right there

What about Mike Hilton’s performance was so bad that you say we lack a slot corner?
Gerry Dulac
11:16
His lack of size made him a liability in coverage. Did you not see how he got picked on by other QBs late in the season. He is too small to get underneath receivers and contest passes.

I hear Tomlin speak of virtues of character players and better direction for team however the man has won but a few playoff games in last 10 years. Tomlin makes the same coaching mistakes today that he did as a young head coach. Isnt it time for him to do it or tge Steelers should move on. What do you think?
Gerry Dulac
11:18
The mistake of making mistakes is not learning from them and repeating them
Bob
11:18
With 2 young QBs, inexperienced backups at OLB, and two relatively new coordinators doesn't it seem foolish that the Steelers will shortchange themselves at those spots with no position coaches?
Gerry Dulac
11:19
Foolish? No. But maybe not the most prudent thing to do
Craig Moore
11:19
Do you think the Steelers will extend Mike Tomlin's contract this season like they normally do with their head coaches?  Do they have faith in him after getting through all the Drama?
Gerry Dulac
11:21
That's what we will find out. To me, there is no reason to extend him or really any coach with two years remaining on his contract, unless he's won the past 2 or 3 Super Bowls. What's the harm of waiting another year to see how the players and Tomlin respond to what happened last season.

Any insider info on whether the Bengals were definitely wanting Bush with the 11th pick?
Gerry Dulac
11:23
My Bengals people were telling me all along they wanted Bush. The Steelers talked to the Lions and Bill about trading up even higher, to 8 or 9. It just so happened they landed right in front of the Bengals at No. 10

Bush or Shazier, who was more touted at the time of their draft? Do you think that Bush can achieve the success that Ryan did?
Gerry Dulac
11:24
Bush was more touted, if only because of where he was projected and where he was eventually drafted (10th). Shazier was 15th. But I think the emphasis on Shazier-type LBs is greater now than when Shazier was drafted, making them more coveted. Doesn't necessarily mean Bush or even Devin White is better than Shazier.

my brothers are die hard browns fans.  So, all I hear is the steelers are done.  your thoughts?

They must be drinking the same poison

So who do you see as being the “QB” of the defense calling out plays and alignment this year?
Gerry Dulac
11:25
That would be your No. 1 pick
troy
11:25
will we be using more backs this year, or running one til the wheels fall off?
Gerry Dulac
11:26
I really don't see them changing a whole lot, Tomlin never does. James Conner is still going to get 80-90 percent of the carries, unless he's injured.

I was following Brian Batko's chat yesterday and he "leaked" that he will be a new part of the "Traveling Steelberries" this fall as the PG reports on the Steelers.  What say you?
Gerry Dulac
11:27
He is correct. He will be at all the home games and about half the away games.

11:27
What area of the team do you think is still a serious concern?  Is that concern enough to derail their SB aspirations?
Gerry Dulac
11:28
Slot corner, Backup TE. But not enough to derail any playoff aspirations or SB runs. Not since they addressed ILB and signed a starting CB

I’ve seen a lot of high opinions about Buggs, is this the year McCullers is finally pushed off the 53?
