I know Mason Rudolph doesn’t need or want me to feel sorry for him, but I would like to see him get at least one more shot somewhere else.  What’s the likelihood at this point?

I agree. I like Mason a great deal and I'm sure now that the draft is over and teams see what they have or don't have, his chances of signing somewhere increase. I'm sure the Steelers would love to have him back, but Mason wants a change of scenery and I don't blame him after what happened last season

Did the Steelers have any concerns about Darnell Washingtons health? It seems many teams passed on him due to perceived health issues.

Yes they did, but not to the point where they were going to pass on him in the third round

Hi Gerry, If Nate Herbig proves to be a better guard than Mason Cole is center, is it crazy to suggest the Steelers should consider moving James Daniels to center which was his original position and a position he's achieved success at?  That would allow Cole to be the back-up at all 3 interior line positions.

Yes it is...crazy. James Daniels is staying where he is and the Steelers didn't bring Nate Herbig in to be the starting center over Mason Cole

I don't know enough about him to evaluate his chances. But I'm sure they will look at him in OTAs and decide if they need to bring in a veteran No.3, which I think is the likelihood.

No. But they're hoping the "new guy" will add some concepts that will help the offense/Canada

Traded or released. It's possible they will keep one for depth purposes, but Green did not even dress for a game last season so you have to think he will be gone for sure. Why keep him?

I liked all the draft picks except one.  If you already know that Nick Herbig isn't the right size for an outside linebacker then why draft him?  In a game where speed and size matters it leaves me scratching my head.  Yes you can point to James Harrison as not being the prototypical player either but it was a different game then.

I don't have a problem with the Nick Herbig pick. They didn't draft him to be a starter, they drafted him to be a backup. And I think he can be a pretty decent backup.

About as likely as signing me to be defensive assistant. They drafted a DL, signed another in free agency, so that eliminates Wormley. And they brought in two ILBs in free agency so that eliminates Jack

I read a "click bait" headline that Kordell Stewart was the third best QB in Steeler history. Of course, I clicked.. But, got me to wondering "what would Gerry think"... Perhaps O'Donnell?

You could make an argument for Kordell, and for O'Donnell. Kordell got them to two AFC Championship games and was a serious candidate for league MVP in 2001. O'Donnell got them to a Super Bowl. Makes for a good debate

Well, they did trade up, like I said. But when Broderick Jones dropped closer to their spot, they liked him better than Christian Gonzalez

When teams trade up, does the team trading down usually require that they reveal who they are intending to pick to help them decide if they want to trade down?

I'm sure they do. Teams aren't going to let another team move up if they think that team might draft the player they want, especially when it involves moving up just a couple spots
