You have said in the past that the Steelers need to spend multiple first round picks on defensive lineman.  A step in the right direction this year, but it seems like that might have to wait another year or even two, if they trade up for a QB?  If they move up a long way, they may have to trade a 2027 first rounder as well.

That used to be correct. Not anymore. With so many international games now, the league is making teams use their bye week right after their overseas game

Hi Gerry - Folks who thinks Najee should have been retained cite the offensive line play as a reason for his results. Warren played behind the same line and had a higher yards per carry. Did you ever feel like Najee was going to break away and take one to the house? I think the rookie and better OL play makes this a more dynamic running game.

There was a guy in the chat yesterday who said that he believes there are fans who believe they know more about football than Tomlin.  I’ve seen multiple people tell me that not only do they know more than Tomlin, but Khan too.   They get mad when I tell them that even the Browns management knows more than they do.  What is it that makes (some) fans think they know more than people who’ve spent years playing, scouting, and coaching at the highest level?

Because they're fans. Trust me, there is not a fan out there, or most coaches, who know more football than Tomlin. He is a high IQ guy, a football junkie, who watches more tape than any coach I know

As always, thanks for the chats and insights… what would you say would be our record with Rudolph compared to AR?  I am not a fan of AR the person, but a fan of the Steelers and the NFL and I think we could get a bump of 3 wins and maybe just maybe a playoff win with him…… Vamos Steelers!

So Tomlin had a player in the building who he LOVED and would have picked first overall in the draft, he goes 4-2 and gets benched and then when the chance to sign him comes around they choke over 410 million??? Do you see why so many say this team has no direction?

Back in January Mike Tomlin said changes were needed, so why do fans believe firings are the only avenue for change to happen?  Intelligent and competent people that are already in place can affect change.  It happens in everyday work-life.

Gerry, thanks for what you do. I think it’s amusing that I read so many comments from fans questioning why certain decisions aren’t made already or why something hasn’t been done yet. Why do so many fans feel like they’re owed something immediately? Do the Steelers and/or AR owe us an immediate answer? I tend to think not. Let the process play out. Maybe there have been more conversations than we know about. Just because this is the age of constant information updates, doesn’t mean the Steelers owe us answers to our burning questions. It’s May, relax.

They do not owe anyone an explanation. They are not elected officials. I love when people say, well, we pay their salary. No you don't. And usually the people saying that are the ones who don't pay money to attend the games.
