OK kids, let's get started....Go!!
Jeff Lebowski

When can we expect you back on the DVE morning show?
Gerry Dulac
9:51
I appear periodically out of season, but once they get to camp I'm on every Monday morning. Thanx
Mr. Rooney

Hi Gerry, thanks for the chat.  Looking back at late season KP performance, it seems his area for most improvement is from the pocket on intermediate to deep routes? Even in the Cleveland game he seemed to sail some balls that could have been turnovers.  Do the coaches see similar areas for improvement and what are they doing to help their QB in this regard?
Gerry Dulac
9:52
His biggest area of improvement was not throwing interceptions -- just one in the final nine games. For a rookie QB? C'mon, that's pretty impressive.
Monroe Fuchs
9:52
Gerry, the running game showed pretty significant improvement in the back half of last season.  In your opinion,  what are the top things the team must do from a schematic perspective to improve the passing game and hence score more points.
Gerry Dulac
9:52
Not drop the ball. Attempt more deep passes. They are not an explosive offense. That needs to change.
3-Putt John
9:52
Gerry, do you feel Calvin Austin’s “redshirt” year helped his development or is he still on a rookie’s learning curve?
Gerry Dulac
9:53
There's not much to learn or develop sitting on the sidelines and not practicing. Except maybe understanding the playbook better
BPOS
9:53
I know we'll have to wait and find out but do you think Allen Robinson has enough left to be an integral part of the offense vs just a vet presence?  If so, I think this can be one of the better receiving groups in the NFL when you add in Freiermuth to the mix.
Gerry Dulac
9:54
I wouldn't go that far to call them one of the best receiving groups in the NFL. That's a stretch. But I think AR will be a big addition if he stays healthy.
Gene
9:54
Who do you think will be the kickoff and punt returner this year?
Gerry Dulac
9:54
For right now, Gunner
Shawn

I know the Steelers want to sign highsmith to long term . My issue with this is that if you look at his number without Watt, then you look at Budd Dupree pre / post (though injuries did not help) I am worried that his numbers are more do to Watt being doubled than Alex being a high paid linebacker
Gerry Dulac
9:56
I have absolutely no issue with them extending Highsmith. If they don't, then where are they?? That's a pretty good tandem with Watt and Highsmith. Don't worry, you don't have to pay the contract.
Jake

Last year I recall there being what seemed like way too many throws from Pickett that were widely off mark, like not even close. Yeah he's a rookie and will improve, but is a lack accuracy something anyone is even mildly concerned about with his game?
Gerry Dulac
9:56
That's all part of being a rookie. Not too many rookie QBs have high completion rates. Relax. Give him time
mrbig
9:56
hey! Aside from Isaac Seumalo, are all of these free agent signings considered backups?
Gerry Dulac
9:57
No. Patrick Peterson and Keanu Neal are being viewed as starters. So are the ILBs -- Cole Holcomb and Elon Roberts
Hi Gerry
9:57
Are they happy with their RB position group or will we see a vet added maybe after training camp cuts.? We're set with Najee and Warren, but that position has mad injury risks and it feels we need another experienced backup.
Gerry Dulac
9:58
They are happy with 22 and 30. And McFadden is back. But we'll see.
Hogan

Gerry, The PGA was pretty much a dumpster fire for viewership. Rain and golf go together like Coach T and even a modest amount of recent post-season success. Concurrence on your end?
Gerry Dulac
9:59
Disagree. I thought the PGA was good viewing, despite the weather
Nate from Fort Wayne
9:59
Morning, Gerry. Do you think Alex Highsmith would be more likely to take a 14-16 mill a year type contract thi
or wait till next year and go big at 18-20 mill a year?
Gerry Dulac
10:00
I think he's more likely to take the Steelers offer.

Good morning Gerry. I realize its way too early in the process, but i just get the feel their is a tad more excitement and added commitment by the team this year. Obviously the new approach is a big part. They have an identity again. As always, thank you for taking my comment
Gerry Dulac
10:01
Yes, it's a tad early, but on the other hand there is no reason to be pessimistic, either. Lot of changes, lot of moving parts. They are not content to stand still.
mrbig
10:01
do you think we'll have a new starting punter or kicker this season? One is too inconsistent & the other could be replaced for cheaper-
Gerry Dulac
10:02
Nope. You're stuck with 'em, and there's nothing wrong with that. When someone starts calling to replace Boswell, well, you might as well say it's time to cut Cam

10:02
Are you surprised Mason couldm't get signed as a #2 somewhere? His ceiling is too low to be a starter, but he seems like a solid backup-
Gerry Dulac
10:02
Agreed. I was surprised. I think Mason is a lot better than a lot of other No. 2s in the league. You ever watch some of them???
Fort Wayne Nate
10:02
were there any players that got signed or haven’t been signed yet that you were hoping the Steelers would’ve gone after?
Gerry Dulac
10:04
I hate to disappoint you Nate, but I don't hope for any players. But, to your question, I think they went after players at positions that needed addressed -- both in free agency and the draft.
Ryan S.
10:04
Thanks for the chats, Gerry! In your opinion, what was the most underrated move the Steelers made in the off-season where we will see an immediate impact? I loved all the vets we added, but think K. Neal could have a great impact.
Gerry Dulac
10:06
I think Cole Holcomb has a chance to be most underrated. I agree with Neal, too. And I'm curious to see what Patrick Peterson can still bring
Gary In VA
10:06
Gerry......What do you think is a fair contract for Alex Highsmith?
Gerry Dulac
10:06
I haven't given it that much thought. I'll ask Omar
TxSteeler
10:07
Mason Rudolph, Miles Jack, Schoenberg contact, etc etc etc….no offense Gerry but is it time to spend more time finding new sources than being snarky to fans? (Knowing full well that snark is coming my way)
Gerry Dulac
10:07
Why would you think that???
