Players stop the run. And Queen is not a downhill run basher like, say, Elandon Roberts or Malik Harrison. He is a sideline-to-sideline guy.

I was sad to see Batko leave the PG but happy to see he’s already landed on his feet and will still be covering the Steelers. I was also sad to see Zeise leave and enjoyed his in-game chats but haven’t heard any more about him. My question is how does this affect those of you who remain?  Layoffs are common in the corporate  world and management always says that work will be removed to account for those who left. But what really happens is the workload for those remaining increases (do more with less). How is this looking for you guys and will certain areas of coverage be reduced or will you simply be working more to fill in the gaps? I assume you’ll still be covering golf but I already saw a question about coverage of Pitt sports. In any event, I’m glad the PG is continuing and most of you are still there since the work by all of you has always been excellent and is appreciated by us the fans.

Terry Bradshaw always considered Tomlin a "Cheerleader Coach".  The more articles I read and how McCarthy is really a hands on coach, I'm inclined to think Bradshaw was right.

Bradshaw wasn't alone in his evaluation

Hi Gerry. Who is the best golfer currently on the Steelers’ roster?  And could you best him in a 1-1 match play round with or without the use of handicaps?
Gerry Dulac
10:30
I'm saying Chris Boswell

10:30
Have the Steelers ever kept 4 QBs on the roster? That seems like a real possibility or have I drunk the koolaide regarding Will Howard.
Gerry Dulac
10:31
Maybe for one week or so because of injuries, but never as a season-long plan. A lot of teams don't keep three, let alone four

Gerry Darius Slay torched the previous coaching staff and shed light on what we who have been paying attention already knew….seems obvious that Mike T and staff had reached an expiration date for sure!

Have you ever noticed that the players who get cut are the ones who talk the most???

What is permitted at steelers summer camp for fans ? Coolers ?
Gerry Dulac

You're asking the wrong person. I don't know. Go on their website. I think they answer all those questions.

Gerry, what do you think will be the most noticeable difference in how the team is run this year?
Gerry Dulac
10:32
I think that will be most noticeable on offense

Thanks for the Chats. Which division opponent do you think will be toughest? I'm thinking Cincy with a healthy Burrow, improved defense.
Gerry Dulac
10:33
I always think it will be Baltimore because of Lamar, Henry, Flowers and Andrews. But especially Lamar

Good Morning Gerry! Lots been covered about the OL, QB's and WR's. But I'm more interested in the defense this year. With a few changes in the backfield (new corner and Elliot coming back), the defense will pretty much be the same. That all being said, if the new DC can get this unit to perform at a top-10 level, what would that say about Tomlin?
Gerry Dulac
10:37
You also have two young DL who should or could be better in year two -- Harmon and Black. And, from what I've seen so far (yes, it's early) I really like CB Daylen Everette, their third-round pick.

I know we are only in OTAs but who do you believe will be our biggest contributor from our draft class this upcoming season?  I think we have a few strong candidates
Gerry Dulac
10:40
None of them were brought in to be starters, so I think the one who could play the most and have the most impact is TE/FB Riley Nowakowski. But I'm curious to see what Kaden Wetjan could do, especially on returns.

Gerry, every year when the NFL schedule comes out analysts   pick the number of wins for each team.  Last year nobody, I believe, picked the Pats vs the Seahawks to be in the Super Bowl.  Do the Steelers have a chance to be one of those teams and what position players need to succeed the most for them to get there?
Gerry Dulac
10:41
Sure they do, but it will all depend on the quarterbacks, as the Patriots and Seahawks proved.

On paper--absent contact--are the Steelers still "weak up the middle?"
Gerry Dulac
10:41
Depends on the type of paper you're using.

What do you think about trading Rudolph to Indy for Mekhi Blackmon or AJ Haulcy? Indy needs a veteran QB...
Gerry Dulac
10:43
I'm sorry to disappoint, but if the Steelers trade Rudolph it won't be for a player. I'm not even sure they would get anything more than a sixth- or seventh-round pick if another team isn't in desperate need of a quarterback. I also think they wouldn't trade him, they would just release him and let him make his own deal.

Are you interested in some excellent restaurant recommendations for when you come down to Jacksonville? I've gotten the impression it's not your favorite NFL city to visit. I'll make sure I'll participate in that week's chat...
Gerry Dulac
10:44
I like Jacksonville a great deal. I just hate navigating that stadium while they're doing all that work. For me, it was always one of the easiest accessible stadiums in the league. Now it's a pain in the, well, you know.

Howdy Gerry,  Say, how do you think the defensive schemes will differ from the way Tomlinson ran them.  Seems like Tomlin’s schemes were more old-school and didn’t keep up with the times.  Thanks for your chats!
Gerry Dulac
10:46
That's what we're going to find out, and the only way is once they start playing games for real. But I think it's safe to say Tomlin kept up with the times, no matter how it might have looked.

Good morning Gerry. Thank you for your outstanding insights. Using your crystal ball, what does our starting offensive line look like by name and position?
Gerry Dulac
10:49
So much of that depends on Broderick Jones. With him, it's easy. Either Dunker or Anderson at LG, with Frazier, McCormack and Fautanu intact. Without him, well, it might be like watching the nightly lottery to see what combinations pop out

Do you think the Steelers can go to foxborough and beat the pats week 2? I see a potential regression coming for the pats

Pat F's restructure after Aaron's resigning. Any ideas on the next restructure? With no disrespect meant toward Tomlin, I am actually looking forward to a season with an offensive minded coach...

Good Morning Jerry.  A few chats ago I posed prior to the draft about the QB room assuming AR signs and we draft a QB, whether Mason Rudolph.  Any change in your thoughts whether he is on the roster?  Barring "injury" of course.  I could see Allar somehow gets an infected hang nail.lol!
