They are 8-4 the past two years vs. the divsion. So, based on that, I'll say better than 3-3

Hi Gerry. It sounds like there’s an intensity, maybe even a passion, on the offensive side of the ball that was missing under Canada. Maybe it wasn’t just X’s and O’s and how to best use the Jimmies and Joes.  Can you comment at all on the energy that Canada brought vs. what Smith is bringing in any more detail than ‘It’s more’, which is pretty apparent from what the players have said.

Gerry, thanks for the chats. The Steelers definitely improved their roster and, accordingly, Tomlin, it is said, no longer has any excuses: nothing short of the playoffs and at least one win suffice or Tomlin should be gone. But what about these collective 'excuses:' KC, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Buffalo, and all the other of the strong teams in the AFC?

The only people saying Tomlin should be gone are the fans, and I get their frustration. But, no question, with all the drastic moves they've made in the offseason, there is no question what the purpose is -- win playoff games now.

I read where Joey Porter, Jr. said that he was the best CB in the NFL. Do you know if he really said this, and it he did, why? I hope he becomes that, but, ahem, it is a bit premature.

I don't know if he said that, but I'd be surprised if he did. Maybe he said he wants to become the best, and I get that. But it is VERY premature if he said he's the best.

Do you think the Steelers would bringing JuJu back?  Please tell me no.  The only thing this clown would do is help Pickens with his brand.  That is the last thing we need.  That worked out so well with Claypool.

Did the Steelers ever tell Cam to take a pay cut or be released?  That seems like the smart move and one that has happened in the past with greater players than him.  It seems like the players are calling the shots these days and not the owner.  That never seemed to be the case with the previous Rooney generations.

They never did. But, let's be clear, Cam, or any other player, is not calling the shots. The Steelers have indicated they are willing to pay Cam the $16 million he is owed this season and take the $22 million cap hit. If they do agree to do an extension, it would be for less money in 2025.

The Steelers have been dealing with the same issues year after year - poor game preparation, lack of focus/discipline/communication, poor challenges, bad clock management, poor tackling, etc..  These have been known issues for years but improvement rarely happens.  What specifically do Tomlin and his staff do in the offseason to make themselves a better coaching staff in regards to these items?

Do you expect to see a push for a new stadium anytime soon? At 23 years old we are hearing the age where Three Rivers was deemed obsolete. And do you expect the next stadium to be a dome to increase the comfort of attendees who increasingly seem to prefer the comfort of watching at home on their large TVs?
