They still have seven years before they get to the Three Rivers Stadium destruction, but they are already planning major revisions to Acrisure. A new stadium? I doubt it. And I prefer games outdoors.

You noted that Tomilin doesn't like to pull his starting QB for a gadget play. But the possibility of using Fields as Slash 2.0 or in a Taysom Hill role is tantalizing to Steelers fans. With the WR situation why wouldn't they at least try to utilize Fields in a Slash role? Or is that just this fans fantasy.
Gerry Dulac
10:36
That's nice, but the Steelers fans are not calling the plays.

Pickett was given two years to prove he was a NFL starter and couldn't do it.  Fields had three years and failed even worse.  Why does the organization think all of a sudden the switch will flip on for Fields when there are no signs of that?  How often does a NFL quarterback look so clueless for that long then suddenly figure it out?

I'm with ya there. Fields has won 10 games in three years. That's hard to do, even with a bad team. But his skill set is tantalizing and coaches/GMs think a change of scenery with a better supporting cast it could bring out the best in a player. But do not lose sight of the fact the Steelers did not bring Fields in to be the starter -- or give up a lot to get him -- for that reason

i always hear that Mike Tomlin is a first ballot HOF…why doesn’t  Mike McCarthy get the same accolades as their regular season records are comparable and McCarthy has a better playoff record?
Gerry Dulac
10:42
I don't know that he is a first ballot Hall of Famer because there are coaches who aren't in the HOF with some pretty impressive resumes. To your point, the Greenfield native has as many SB wins as Tomlin and only six fewer total victories.

Where do you think Darius Rush will fit in the Steelers secondary?
Gerry Dulac
10:42
As a backup

Better record this year Steeles or the Jets if Aaron Rodgers has a healthy season?

Gerry do you think Bill In LA is actually Mr. Pickett (Kenny's dad) in NJ?

Hahaha

Is it time to start questioning the work of Karl Dunbar? Javon Hargrave is the last DL that developed in to a good player and he had John Mitchell as his position coach his first couple years. Keanu Benton came in ready to contribute day one and the rest have mostly either regressed or never arrived.

I think the defensive line has been and remains a major concern

Do you have any interaction with Big Ben? Just wondering how the old 'gunslinger' is doing.
Gerry Dulac
10:43
I do and I will tell you he enjoys retirement.

Gerry, what do you think the biggest determining factor was that led the Steelers to not pick-up the 5th year option for Harris?
Gerry Dulac
10:44
Money. And the nature of the position itself
Joe
10:44
The Steelers should not give Cam $1 in new money until they him play this season to determine if he can play in his age 36 season. If he wants to agree to an extension of his $16M for another year to reduce the cap hit this year, fine, but that’s all the Steelers should do. Do you think the Steelers see this the same way?
Gerry Dulac
10:45
Largely, to a degree, they do

In regards to resigning Juju, I'm not sure he's the type of WR they're really looking for right now but I for one would love to have him back. I feel like he's matured and been humbled since he left here and would be no distraction or negative influence on GP. How much have we heard of that social media stuff the past couple yrs?
Gerry Dulac
10:45
I'm with ya on all counts

So are you saying that Tomlin just looks for better players and does nothing to improve his coaching?  That explains the same results year after year!
Gerry Dulac
10:48
Well, guest, there was just a touch of sarcasm in my answer. Look, year after year, they go over what they can do better as a staff . Where do they need to improve? Which coaches need to be replaced? Like any corporation, they do an annual end-of-year analysis. And, by same results, do you mean a non-losing record the past 17 years?

Regarding criticism of Fields for the performance of the Bears while he was there:  Was his performance a cause of that or was it a result of the Bears being a bad team around him?
Gerry Dulac
10:49
Chicken or the egg, eh? That was my point about winning only 10 games in three years.

Does Tiger and/or Phil Mickelson make the cut in the US open?
Gerry Dulac
10:50
Depends on their short game

Hi Gerry, we hear a lot about potential trades for a WR, but do you expect any trades or FA pickups on the DL?
Gerry Dulac
10:50
They've tried that. They need to draft em -- high!!

Starting with the Super Bowl loss against the Packers Tomlin has been underwhelming.  Why extend him 2 years?
Gerry Dulac
10:51
Because they always do. That's the best I can tell you.

Not a question, just a comment. I think JuJu was as good as Ben made him.

What is the backup plan if JPJ goes down?  Are we looking at the scrap heap? Isn’t it a potential for a disaster of a season if we can’t stop other teams from throwing?
Gerry Dulac
10:53
Depends what you mean by "goes down?" If it's season-long, then they have to make a decision.

In regards to roster moves, do you know something that you can't tell us?
