That seems to be a popular sentiment. Doesn't mean the Steelers share it

Gerry, were the Steelers in talks with Herbig’s people before the Garrett trade or was the trade the impetus to get him locked up.
Gerry Dulac
10:49
The Garrett trade has nothing to do with it

Benton odd man out for contract extension?
Gerry Dulac
10:50
Not necessarily. Porter, Benton and Darnell Washington all remain possibilities.

Best landing spot from Alex Highsmith?
Gerry Dulac
10:50
I'd say OLB

Lots of teams building or planning to build new stadiums, even ones that have newer ones now.  I doubt the Pirates would build a new one … what about the Steelers. Lease is up a few years.?
Gerry Dulac
10:51
I really can't see a new stadium. Maybe a refurbished one.

MT HOF coach?
Gerry Dulac
10:54
Probably, but as a HOF selector, I can tell you the voting process makes it harder every year. Look at Belichick. MT's total wins though make it hard to keep him out.

Rams number 1 SB contender?
Gerry Dulac
10:54
They're right up there.

Which of these M. Bryant (WR), Shazier, Bell, AB, Killer Bees are the greatest what if/s?
Gerry Dulac
10:55
Several aren't even what-ifs -- Shazier, AB, Bell. There are what-weres. Martavis Bryant might be the greatest what-if

Hi Gerry! Haven’t submitted a question to you since the Devin Bush fiasco! Wow! What do you think of the Nick Herbig contract? Unexpected to say the least? Btw I pushed for Bush, you tried to talk me down . Kudos!

It's a whopper of a deal for a guy who is technically considered a backup.

Hello Gerry - There can't be many teams with a better WR 1-2 tandem than Metfalf and Pittman, can there? Do you think there are more than 3 or 4 teams with a better top tandem? It's taken a few years but it seems Khan has turned the team's most glaring weakness into a strength.
Gerry Dulac
11:01
It's a good tandem. Not going to call it better than  Chase-Higgins in Cincy. Jefferson-Addison in Minnesota? But it's a good one

Gerry, you’re the reason that I still subscribe to the PG. so glad it’s still alive. With the Steeler performance
Hit return. Sorry. With the performances of the past few years, do we really have a bona Fide “star” on the roster anymore? Maybe TJ
Gerry Dulac
11:02
Cam is still at the top of his game. Rodgers has some of the biggest star power in the league, even though he's not the player he was. TJ is TJ, but he needs to start playing more like the old TJ

I keep seeing people talk about the need to "see what we have" with WH and/or DA or we'll go into next year in the same boat.  Forget the argument that ownership wants to win every year: more importantly, so do the players.  They only get so many shots at this. I think it was Alan Faneca who summarized his feeling on the Maddox vs Roethlisberger situation with something like "who wantts to play with someone right out of college".  Players want to win now!  As much as we get sick of the AR drama, he's the best chance for them to win so accept it and move on.  Thoughts?

Rogers in a more QB friendly system and a big upgrade in WR position….am I crazy to think that with some injury luck the Steelers could surprise people this year?
Gerry Dulac

Not at all

Good morning.  Other than the obvious conclusion that the Steelers wanted to keep Herbig, what could/do you reasonably conclude this significant signing of a "backup" means for the future of starters Watt and Highsmith?
Gerry Dulac
11:03
I think it means one of them will be moving on at some point
Steeler Joe

Hey, Gerry. Genuinely surprised by the blockbuster deal for Nick Herbig. Not sure it's a bad deal, but ... it's a risky one. So ... does that suggest that Highsmith might be the odd man out in the long run?
Gerry Dulac
11:04
Someone will be, I would assume. Hey, any deal is risky. But it is a BIG one
OK kids, time to get on the field. Gotta go. Thanx for the questions.
