Assuming Sutton will be #1 slot corner ?
Gerry Dulac
10:44
I assume as well

More of a statement than a question.  Steeler fans that expect a Super Bowl caliber team are spoiled fools.  It is hard to win in the NFL.  Winning is always the goal but other teams are trying as too.  The truth is the Steelers may not get back to a Super Bowl in all of our life times.  Ask Lion fans how it feels to just have a shot once.  It is not a birth right for Steeler fans that they get to follow a Super Bowl Caliber team.  Be happy with the history we have had and hopeful for the future but this expectation that they are great every year is unrealistic at best.

Well, Don, I'll run your observation up the flagpole and see what everyone thinks.

Game you're looking forward to most this season?
Gerry Dulac
10:45
The first one. Then the final one

Hi Gerry. If you could pick 2 Steelers from the 70's era who could time-travel to current day and get an off season to adjust to today's game, who would do the best? 1 on offense, 1 on defense. I think Mel Blount on D who might be All Pro right away, and I'm going with Franco on O. I watch their games and his feet and vision and cutback is spectacular and he always fell forward, and they threw to him deep and over the middle like a tight end! I didn't realize he was so good, they're before my time. Who are you going with?
Gerry Dulac
10:46
Blount a good one. I might go with Swann on offense

Wouldn't the Steelers been in contact with the league BEFORE  they signed Sutton?
Gerry Dulac
10:46
Of course. They're not dumb

50th anniversary of Super Bowl IX. Perfect time to retire #12?
Gerry Dulac
10:46
Yes, but it won't happen

How much less physical would you say training camp is now than previous eras?
Gerry Dulac
10:48
Actually, the last couple years have gotten more physical and fiestier .... when they have the pads on. But it's not like it used to be in terms of every-day hitting

How many times can teams be flexed during the season? The gauntlet at the end of the year could have some interesting flex game possibilities.

Love our draft picks, interesting with McCormick though.  I find it interesting because we Seamaulo is under contract for a few more years, but Daniels is a FA after this year so definitely reason behind that selection noting he could be a future starter.  Is there a chance McCormick becomes a starter week 1, and maybe Daniels could be a part of a trade for a wide receiver because we know from reports him and the front office aren't negotiating on a  deal next year.
Gerry Dulac
10:50
I agree, I like the pick, and I'm sure they had an eye to the future. But I don't see a change happening now, unless there is an injury

Is OC Smith better known for adapting his offense to the talents of the players he has, or for having a scheme and finding players that fit into to it and making the scheme work?
Gerry Dulac
10:50
Good coordinators find a way to adapt the system to the players...at least they should. Especially new ones.

Is Jackson an upgrade over wallace?
Gerry Dulac

Probably

Hello Gerry, does the Sutton signing indicate that he's not going to be suspended by the NFL or that the suspesnsion will be a small # of games?
Gerry Dulac
10:51
No, he will suspended I'm sure

Hi Gerry,  The last time Tomlin got the Steelers to the Super Bowl was 14 years ago after the 2010 season. Will he ever get then there again? With only 3 playoff wins since then and a losing playoff record overall are the 8-8 and 9-7 regular seasons really his saving grace and how he keeps his job?
Gerry Dulac
10:53
Well, there was a 13-3 and two 12-4 records and an 11-5 in there, so I'm guessing that's why. But I get your point.

Hi Gerry, I hope you're enjoying you're enjoying some nice courses this summer. I've heard the squad is still $18M under the cap for this coming season. Am I naive to think think that could go to one Courtland Sutton? The more I read about him, the more I think he's exactly what this offense needs - a savvy vet with a huge catch radius who plays physical and is a team leader.
Gerry Dulac
10:53
I think he would be a great addition
Dan
10:54
i know Steelers fans have more so a negative outlook on Dan Moore, but how do you think other NFL teams see it? I believe he’s serviceable and perfect trade bait to someone like Washington (and a pick or 2) for terry mclaurin. What say you?
Gerry Dulac
10:54
Dan Moore, who has started every game at left tackle since he was drafted, will get a huge deal in free agency after the season. That's how other teams will view him

I live in Eastern PA. Do you have any advice for how I can get through this summer without hearing how good Pickett looks in meaningless action? I tried to call in and warn the sports radio station here but their producer said no, and then they went on complimenting him. He's a pouter and a quitter!
Gerry Dulac
10:55
You'll have to keep beating the drum, I suppose

10:55
Any chance we see the Steelers trading Dan Moore Jr for future draft choices? Only one year on his deal and I highly doubt the Steelers are going to sign him to a contract.
Gerry Dulac
10:56
It seems like a good possibility because you're right -- they are not going to sign him to a new contract, not with Jones and Fautanu

I seen that the Steelers agreed to a one-year contract to DB Grayland Arnold, Will this affect the rumored report of Cam Sutton coming back?
Gerry Dulac
10:56
Not at all Ed

10:56
Do you think that Omar ever bought in to Pickett being a franchise QB?
Gerry Dulac
10:57
I don't know. Obviously it wasn't his pick. His willingness to trade him should, however, give some indication what he thought of him

Hi Gerry. How much less important is it to be an effective quarterback in the pocket in this era since these QB's can just run downfield without taking hard hits due to overprotection? Would a great runner like Kordell be more valued than a big classic pocket passer with a rocket arm like Boomer Esiason in this era?
