Any chance Leglue has a chance to win the other guard spot over Dotson and Green?  He seemed to do a solid job at the end of last year in addition the entire line seemed to perform better once he and JC were starting.

I don't know that he will beat out either player, especially Green, but he showed last year he can be a nice piece to the puzzle.

I will tell you this: They think an awful lot of Loudermilk. I'm not going to sit here and say he's Tuitt, but they think he can be a really good player. Same with Leal, but he has to get bigger.

Of course he has a chance. But, if nothing else, the Steelers did a good job of solidifying their depth at that position by adding Kazee

Coach Cowher commented on how hard it is to have a real QB competition with three QBs, something he tried to do after O'Donnel left. Time and only three pre-season games the reason. Is the talk of a fierce competition by Coach Tomlin just window dressing and decisions (barring something dramatic) already been made?

I don't see it being fierce at all. I think the plan is already set in their minds and they are just waiting to see if anything changes that.

Can you see a scenario where Trubisky flourishes here and meets his draft expectations and they trade Pickett? That has been speculated by some fans and I just don't see that happening. Do you?

Gerry, do you believe there is a true QB competition? I believe they will eventually trade Mason during camp when/if another team's backup gets hurt. But between Mitch and Kenny, is it a true competition or would Trubisky have to overtly stink for Tomlin to start Kenny week 1?

Tell me why it is simply foolish to be optimistic that this team can go 10-7 - make the playoffs - beat the Browns and Ravens twice - and be a team to be reckoned with.  I'm sick of the downers around the burgh.  Get your game on people!!!!  Or am I foolish in my old age Gerry.

I didn't think 45 was old!! Hey, how many people thought the Steelers would do what they did last year -- sweep the Browns and Ravens and make playoffs? You could fit those that did in a telephone booth...if they still had telephone booths
