OK, kids, here we go ... last one for a while

Good morning Gerry.  Great Open Coverage - thanks for that.  Re Steelers:  Who will be the leader on the offensive line?  Isaac has the years under his belt but maybe he doesn't like that role?
Gerry Dulac
9:58
Don't worry, I think he likes that role
Jake
9:58
Do you anticipate this being an entertaining year for local and national reporters?
Gerry Dulac
9:58
Entertaining or annoying, not sure which
Boston Billy

in the legendary mangulation of the English language by Myron and Wolf who can we count on to continue the tradition

I think we're out of candidates (haha)

Goodmorning, Gerry. Would it be fair to say that the FO knew AR would sign and that's why they dealt GP? Seems like those are two personalities that wouldn't exactly mesh.
Gerry Dulac
10:00
They always believed he would sign. But I don't think one had anything to do with the other

Gerry: I think we were all a little surprised when the Steelers signed Malik Harrison who can play inside and outside LB.  We were also surprised when they drafted Sawyer.  It seems like most of us expect them to cave to TJ's contract demands and you can't replace TJ with those guys, but is it possible that they are preparing a little more than we expected to move on from him or at least have the depth to take more of a hard line in the negotiations?
Gerry Dulac
10:02
What they were preparing for was to better served to help stop the run. Not sure it had anything to do with TJ. They want to extend TJ and likely will, but I'm telling you it's going to be a tough process. They have to be careful about making smart business decisions. They're not the Jets or Browns, after all.

If you could change 3 Steelers moves over the last three years what would they be?
Gerry Dulac
10:03
Change the Christmas Day game. Change the Thanksgiving Day game. Change the Christmas Day game

Hello Gerry! How comfortable do you feel with the Steeler secondary? I like Porter but not sure he can become a lockdown corner this year, Slay, historically a great corner, but now 34, and a fragile Trice. I am intrigued by Jalen Ramsey. Would he make sense to you for the Steelers? I think the Steelers have made some good additions this offseason but the cornerback room seems like a dice roll to me right now.
Gerry Dulac
10:03
It's not that bad. Relax. I'm fine with it.

If Aaron Rogers struggles and the Steelers record is say 2-6 or worse, is there a point where you think Mike Tomlin would bench Rogers?
Gerry Dulac
10:04
He might have no other choice. But I don't think they start 2-6. The early schedule is very accommodating

I don't have a strong opinion either way on the whole fire MT subject, but at this point I almost hope AR2 gives him a life long contract just to see the whiners squirm. I'm sure you dont have the time or interest to read CC's chat from yesterday but it seems some in this fan base have devolved from bashing MT to bashing people who don't bash MT. This is why hobbies outside of obsessing over off-season football are healthy.
Gerry Dulac
10:05
He basically does give him a lifetime contract with all these three-year extensions
Jerry to Gerry
10:05
While I love TJ, his production down the stretch last year was very alarming. I just feel it is easy for a good offensive to scheme good edge rushers. So for me to pay him Myles Garrett money would be foolish. Your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
10:05
That's what the Steelers are pondering
Bill in LA
10:05
If George Pickens wears out his welcome in Dallas as Dionte Johnson did in Carolina, what thoughts would come across your mind?
Gerry Dulac
10:07
I hate to tell ya Bill -- none. Other than, I told you so

Was the excitement and roars at Oakmont, especially on JJ's last put, as palpable in person as they seemed on TV? The drama between player and course and player and player created a historic US Open in my opinion and not just on Sunday.
Gerry Dulac
10:09
That is always the case at Oakmont -- player against course. Almost never player versus player. And you don't hear the roars at Oakmont (or anywhere maybe for that matter) like you do at Augusta. Different topography with the hills, valleys and trees. But JJ's last putt -- whoa!! Made 2025 US Open memorable. Will be replayed for years to come. Saved the tournament from being Steve Jones-like
Just The Truth
10:09
Gerry, I hope you enjoyed the US Open. Under MT the Steelers have been God awful at drafting DBs. Why do you think this is? Tomlin's specialty was supposed to be in the secondary.
Gerry Dulac
10:10
Either that or they haven't helped developed them. Not sure which is more culpable

If the Steelers are confident in Rogers, then why not sign him for two years to avoid another year of instability at the position?
Gerry Dulac
10:11
Because he's gonna be 42 on December. And there's no reason too. Plus, nobody ever said they were THAT confident in Rodgers
TVC15
10:11
Hi Gerry, How do DK Metcalf and Pat Freiermuth stack up against some of the best wide receivers and tight ends that Rodgers has had during his career? About the same or better or worse?
Gerry Dulac
10:11
He had some pretty good combos in Green Bay
Rodgers RL
10:11
I’m of belief if the Steelers stop the run this year it’s a great year with playoff wins. What’s your take on it?
Gerry Dulac
10:11
It's not that, but I get your point.
Jake
10:12
Has anyone seen Jack Lambert lately? I’d like to see his number retired and him to be around to see it.
Gerry Dulac
10:12
So would a lot of people
Bill in LA
10:12
The Jets moved on from Aaron Rodgers and felt Justin Fields would be an upgrade from Rogers. The Steelers moved on from Justin Fields and felt that Aaron Rodgers would be an upgrade from Fields. Who is right?
Gerry Dulac
10:14
Haha....Now that's a clever question. Basically, Blll, you're asking who made the better decision -- the stable, consistently good,  4-out-of-5-year playoff-team Steelers or the dysfunctional Jets? Does it need an answer
Rodgers RL
10:14
Do the Steelers sign another WR? Who are the most likely?
Gerry Dulac
10:14
Maybe.

10:15
Do you expect a better version of Roger's this year than last year if our offensive line play is solid with him being nearly 2 full years removed from injury? Also, do you believe he will elevate the play of all those around him?
