Well, he won 5 games last year. I expect he will have more than that with a better coach, a better coordinator, better stability, better franchise

GM Gerry. If you could pick one current NFL player to build your team around, who would it be?
Gerry Dulac
10:16
Patrick Mahomes wouldn't be a bad choice, eh
Uncle Floyd
10:16
If I was Rodgers I would be a little antsy with Jones protecting my blind side, one good hit and Rodgers may be done for the year.  How do you feel about Jones at left tackle?
Gerry Dulac
10:16
I feel he will be fine

Good morning Gerry, great coverage on the US Open!
Gerry Dulac
10:16
Thanx Bama

Gerry, So far, how would you evaluate Omar Khan's work compared to Kevin Colbert's? I feel like the whole 'Omar magic' thing is overrated, do you agree?
Gerry Dulac
10:17
I do not.

10:17
Which running back, do you think,  will have the most receptions this year ?
Gerry Dulac
10:17
Probably Jaylen Warren because he will play a lot of third downs

10:17
Do you believe from what you are hearing the a deal with TJ Watt will be done before training camp or will this drag put to the 11th hour?
Gerry Dulac
10:17
Won't be before training camp

So Martavis Bryant is still clinging to a job in the league all these years later. Maybe we all need to take a breath and give MT his due. He really did get all there was to get from Bryant, AB, Holmes. As soon as they left the Steelers their careers were shot. Life outside Pittsburgh must not be conducive for a certain type of personality. Did Tomlin major in psychology at W&M?
Gerry Dulac
10:19
Did you ever stop to think that instead of handling them, he might have enabled them??? Martavis Bryant was the most talented of them all, maybe the most talented receiver they've ever had, and that's saying a lot. But he had issues and they knew it

10:19
So Thompson was just a camp arm the whole time?
Gerry Dulac
10:20
I hope you didn't believe he was anything more than that. Your first clue should have been that they signed him to a futures contract. You don't sign a roster player to a futures contract

Good morning Gerry. Will the Steelers change their offensive scheme significantly or just repackage last year's? Do they need to make bigger changes, in your opinion?
Gerry Dulac
10:21
I'm sure it will adjust with Rodgers as the QB. If he doesn't, he will adjust it on the fly. Rodgers is the best QB in the league at the line of scrimmage. He can read defenses like he's been tipped off

Gerry, I read several references to the cute little “smirk” between Rodgers and Tomlin back I believe in 2021. Do you have any pictures or tape of “the smirk”? Thinking maybe Hallmark can make a Christmas movie based on it? Also, will the league review  “the smirk” like the tush push? Seems like it could be tampering with potential free agents 😆 Great Oakmont coverage, thanks!
Gerry Dulac
10:22
That snarky sarcasm will bode well in the future

Good morning Gerry, thanks for the chats!  I know we're just rehashing the same offseason questions over and over, but have you heard anything about the impression Gave Davis made?  He came in and then radio silence.
Gerry Dulac
10:22
He has injury issues that are of concern to them and other teams
Ivan
10:23
The last time we had a veteran QB wearing number 8 and a rookie QB on the same roster was back in 2004. Should we prepare for a similar ride? That would be awesome!
Gerry Dulac
10:23
I don't think they have the same rookie QB waiting in the wings

Lots of talk about Joey Porter Jr taking a step back year 2. All the stats and penalties say he was one of the worst CBs in NFL. Do you think the reason is: over confidence, arrogant, lack of training or preparation, coaching, or something else?
Gerry Dulac
10:24
Not sure. Could be some of those. But I'm not going to sour of him.
Stash
10:24
Gerry, do you find the cliche "bogeys won't hurt you on this course" terribly annoying and misguided? What if one cards eleven of the SOBs? Then one would theoretically lose to Starkey if he somehow carded a career round including one quad, two doubles, and two regular bogeys, no?
Gerry Dulac
10:25
Now that's some good logic there
Ivan
10:25
Hello Gerry, hope you're doing great. Hey, How is it that the Steelers, clearly in need of a WR2, haven't signed any of the veteran wide receivers still available, like Amari Cooper or Keenan Allen? Is it a matter of money, scheme fit, or are they simply no longer viewed as top receivers? Do you think we'll start the season once again with only a clear WR1 and a complementary group of wideouts?
Gerry Dulac
10:25
We'll see. That's what training camp is for -- to see where you still have deficiencies
JR
10:26
Hi Gerry. Love your chats. Thanks very much. My Question concerns our HC. He inherited a HOF QB in Big Ben. Since then we have had a laundry list of make believe players at that position and now talk about drafting a franchise QB in next year’s draft. Is it a black market on Tomlinson that he can’t develop players at that position? Rudolph is an example in that he was promoted as a sleeper (1st rd quality) who never seemed to have much of a chance after he was drafted.
Gerry Dulac
10:27
JR, I could be mistaken, but I believe you're the first person to complain about Mike Tomlin
CJ
10:27
Gerry , why wouldn’t the Steelers bring in a guy like Jaire Alexander, they need as many good Defensive Backs as you can get in today’s NFL, yes they brought in Slay but his age is questionable and Alexander was brought into Baltimore for what seems like a reasonable salary (6 million)
Gerry Dulac
10:27
They can't bring in everybody
Burton
10:27
Gerry, is there any indication that the Steelers tried to sign Jaire Alexander? I wasn’t happy that he signed with the Ravens at a team friendly salary.  Thanks.
Gerry Dulac
10:28
I can't answer that. They do their research on a lot of players we never know about

10:28
Hey Gerry, so all the speculation around Rodgers is over and the oldest qb in the league is now a Steeler.  Fantastic.   The Steelers appear to be the land of the misfit toys equivalent to an nfl franchise.  They seem to be struggling to put together a complete team and have struggled for years.  Do you think Tomlin is even capable of evaluating talent properly?
Gerry Dulac
10:28
Have you paid attention to the Jets and Browns for, oh, the last two decades????
CJ
10:29
What exactly is going on in the secondary when we hear about these   communication issues .. Seems like we have heard this over a number of seasons.  How can this continue to be an issue , it’s noteworthy new players that have come in past few seasons have mentioned the issue , I know defenses can be complicated at times but isn’t rocket science as they say .  Is this more on coaches or just bad players
