OK kids, it won't be long before we get started, so get those questions ready....

Ok, here we go....fire away

Who do the Steelers think their #1 WR is ?
Gerry Dulac
9:50
The guy who makes the most money -- Diontae Johnson.
Jeff Miller

Do the Steelers want to run a RB by committee or do they still view Najee as a bell cow back ?
Gerry Dulac
9:52
No, it's still Najee, but, as you saw last year, Mike Tomlin became a little more conciliatory about how he uses his RBs by giving more snaps to Jaylen Warren. Smart move.

Good morning Gerry.  I am a bit impressed by the offensive schemes thus far.  If we can consistently put a threat in the middle of the field Harris will have more room to run.  Maybe snow ball into something surprising to the rest 9f AFC.  Do you think it's byproduct of Tomlin influence or collective offensive input?
Gerry Dulac
9:53
I think what you're impressed with is the vision of their offensive schemes because we haven't seen the offensive schemes yet. But I get your point. And it's a collective effort, from AR2, Omar Khan and Andy Weidl down to the coaching staff.

Hi Gerry, Thanks for the chants.  Do you see anything in early camp compared to last year, or last season that tells you the offense is going to open up and take advantage of this receiving corps?
Gerry Dulac
9:56
Well, we're seeing more deep balls to George Pickens than last year in training camp, mainly because they know from watching last season he's capable of making any play. But they need to get more big plays in the middle of the field -- runs after catch -- from Diontae Johnson and Calvin Austin, and I can't sit here and tell you they're specifically working on that. The games will dictate that.

Over/Under 10 wins this season?
Gerry Dulac
9:57
10 is a better push than the 8.5 Vegas is offering. That's an easy one.

Thanks Gerry for the chats.  Fun one.  Who has more shanks, Harvin in a game or you playing 18 holes.  Since it sounds like you are a good golfer I am putting my money on Harvin!
Gerry Dulac
9:57
I'm going with the punter

Gerry, what do you think will become of Kendrick Green? With all the changes on the O-line will he be on the outside lookin in?
Gerry Dulac
9:59
To be honest, I'm surprised both he and Kevin Dotson are still on the roster. But Green gives them a player who can play two positions (center/guard). Dotson does not. I think one of them sticks on the roster aa backup. Not both, unless they keep 9 O-linemen.

Gerry, thank you for the time and chat. I've read PG articles that have indicated Tomlin has made Canada be conservative with the offense and articles from other sources that outright state he's handcuffed Canada and limited what the offense can do.  Is this true?  Doesn't make sense to me.  I can get it last year due to a rookie QB but not when Ben was there and the O was still was an abysmal mess (until Ben ditched the play calls and called his own). While Pickett's growth is critical to their success I don't think its going to be the obstacle this year.  He seems like he has enough drive and talent to be a good (maybe not elite) QB that, with the right pieces, can take a team to the SB and win it. The elephant in the room is the OC in my opinion.  Has Canada shown anything in OTAs, minicamp and the beginning of camp to indicate he's grown, improved, stopped being a stubborn control freak and learned how to run and call an NFL offense? Or am I wrong and the elephant is Tomlin, not Canada.  Thanks.

Look, the head coach always dictates how he wants the flow of the game to be called, but I'm not aware of Tomlin "handcuffing" Canada in any regard. I will say this, when you have a rookie quarterback, a rookie WR, a second-year RB and TE and four new starters on the O-line, as they had last year, of course they are going to be conservative. This year should be a little different. Should.

How big or small is the drop off in talent between the 53 man roster and the practice squad?
Gerry Dulac
10:03
Big.
Bill
10:03
If punter Percy Harvin does not make the team, do you agree with me that no other team will pick him up to be their punter?
Gerry Dulac
10:03
I do not.
Bill
10:04
Why is Tomlin so dedicated to punter Percy Harvin despite his record of inconsistency? Could it have to do with Tomlin wanting to give a Black punter a job, a rarity in the NFL?
Gerry Dulac
10:04
Again with the "Percy" Harvin.....A don't think it has anything to do with race.

Morning Gerry.  When do you start the show with coach Bradley and Tim?  Is it only Mondays after a steelers game?  Do you host any other shows?  Thank you
Gerry Dulac
10:05
Yes, it begins Monday night after the season opener. And not sure if I will be hosting a player show on another night.

Hello Gerry, is there a plan as to how the Steelers will play Pickett in the pre-season?  Will they be willing to risk injury to get him snaps with the new offensive personnel?
Gerry Dulac
10:08
I'm curious to see how much they use him as well. I don't think he gets the Ben treatment and sits out the first two, nor should he. But, if I had to guess, he'll play a series, maybe two, in Tampa; a quarter or so against the Bills at home, and maybe sit out the last one. But not sure

Any word on the Cory Tryce injury?
Gerry Dulac
10:09
Not officially, but I don't think it's any good. That's too bad if that's case.

Hey Gerry! Thanks for the chats. I am in the camp of thinking Pickett is going to see a jump in his game. Just using his Pitt career as a reference. For the Steelers to be a Super Bowl contender, Pickett needs to be a Top ___ QB in the NFL

Hi Gerry- Do you know if Derek Watt is taking visits or has he officially retired?  In your view could B Snell come back for ST role?

No, and no.

O/U 1.5 rookies starting week 1? Feel like JPJ counts if it's Peterson, Wallace, and him in nickel.

Obviously they are not certain they like the ILB room.. I realize the price is right for Kwon… but.. Thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
10:11
I think the ILB room is better than it was. More physical. And I like Holcomb. But we'll see

Have you noticed more focus on MOF throws?  Mainly to Robinson and Muth or Austin as well?
Gerry Dulac

Hate to tell ya -- not especially.
