I did not because I was at the opposite end watching the back-on-backers drill. But I heard the roar from the crowd. And I have no problem with Joey Porter standing next to Tomlin. Maybe Tomlin was standing next to him

Morning Gerry, most fans seem to be ticked that the Steelers and KP have been assessed by many to be in the lower tiers of the division or league. But isn’t this the absolute best scenario for the team at this stage? If memory serves me right in the Tomlin era, the team is at its best with the underdog mindset. When expectations are high, we lose to awful teams and/or get blown out in the 1st round of the playoffs.

Morning, Gerry. Once the Steelers start doing padded practice with tackling, are there any tackles like the “hip drop tackles” that aren’t allowed because of potential high ankle sprains and injuries like that? Or are all tackles allowed?

Well, he is being used sparingly to go easy on that 34-year-old body. They want to preserve him for when it counts. Training camp isn't it

I will just tell you this -- when DeShaun Watson was coming out, the Steelers loved him and considered drafting him. They never got the chance of course, but maybe that answers your question.

I'd be very cautious about using the term "elite" because they are so few of them in the league. I think he can be a very good QB

I know you said "Why should they?" to Fournette, but with RB's devalued the way they are if he can be had for near the vet minimum I'd do it in a heartbeat and give him half-a-dozen carries/game.  Do you see that as a bad roster move?

Not at all. But I don't see that as an urgency after what I saw from Jaylen Warren last year. Do I think it would be a good move? It wouldn't be a bad one.

It's hard to tell because they use so many different combinations in training camp. Right now, it's Chandon Sullivan, but they have different roles planned for Patrick Peterson. And Damontae Kazee would be a good slot guy
