No, he won't usurp Ebron. But he will be a large part of the offense with two TE sets. He has been as impressive as any rookie in camp.

To a degree, but I will remind you the Steelers have already parted ways with Dobbs twice before. That would suggest they are comfortable doing it again.

I know we live in a “free” country.  However you don’t have absolute freedom to do or not do what u please.  NFL is a private business(w certain anti-trust exceptions that make it quasi state affiliated). So why don’t the Steelers and/ or every Team just require every single player to get vaccinated?  The only exception being a documented medical reason or bonafide religious exemption.

I think Isaiahh Loudermilk makes the team, and he should. They need to keep and develop young linemen, something they just haven't done. And I like what I see in drills of Abdullah Anderson, but I need to see him in games.

Hi Gerry -  How many pre-season or regular season games will it take for the Matt Canada offense to be revealed in full?

You won't see a whole lot of it in the preseason, that's for sure. You'll see the occasional play or formation, but I think most of what they do will be revealed in the regular season

Hi Gerry -  Given Haden's age, wouldn't it make most sense to use Pierre more to see what they have as opposed to keeping Sutton on the outside on sub packages.

He's been looking good, but his chances of making the team are about as good as me answering any question about Haskins replacing Ben as the starter.

Considering possible restrictions, etc, do you think this would be a good year to take my first trip to Pittsburgh to see a Steelers game? Could be my last year to see Ben! Any suggestions on seat locations?

Sorry, I can't answer that because what you think might be a good seat might not be available. But, if you want to see Ben, I wouldn't roll the dice that there's always next year.

I don't think Freiermuth's injury is bad at all. He kinda landed a bit awkward on his shoulder, but he walking around on the sideline after icing it and doesn't appear to be anything problematic. I think Layne will make the team, but this is his last year to prove he can do something.

Gonna be tough. Depends on two things -- how much they like Kalen Ballage; and do they have another RB who they think can catch the ball better than Samuels. I severely doubt Najee Harris is going to play every down, even though he is a third-down back, so Samuels is the best receiving option in pass situations. I can tell you it's not Anthony McFarland or Benny Snell

With all the unknowns concerning the offensive line in mind and Derek Watt's abilities as an excellent blocker, do you see the Steelers trying utilize his skills more this season, or is he just a bad fit for this offensive scheme?

Based on what we've seen the past two days in practice, I would say you will see more of him this season.

I know there is a faction that dislikes Tomlin.  But isn’t he criminally underrated w his ability to get FA’s to come to play for team(knowing they are unlikely to start) and motivating young players and established players to do the right things(stay out of trouble, be involved in community, get vaccinated etc).  These things, at a minimum, indirectly effect W’s, right?

Gerry, you were right.......I was a tad high. SHB 5 years at $23 mil or $115 mil to 5 at $24 or $120.  I was going by memory, which at my age is the wrong thing to do.  Your thoughts on these numbers?  Thanks.
