Thanks for squeezing in a chat during camp week.  Do you believe the Steelers prefer to carryover some 2024 cap space into 2025 due to their QB situation ?  With no proven QB signed past this year, it looks to be an expensive 2025

Hi Gerry, do you expect the QBs in Arthur Smith's offense to have a certain number of carries (perhaps 3-4) a game, through an read-option or a designed QB running play?  Obviously, that is part of Fields's physical talent, but Wilson still has some wheels to keep the defense honest.

Which side in the LIV/pgat negotiations is more responsible for no deal getting done? I was a steady consumer of tv golf pretty much every weekend and I don’t think I’ve watched more than 15 or 20 minutes of any tournament this year outside of the Masters and US Open. It needs to get figured out.

He was referring to Russell Wilson being listed as the starting quarterback -- which he is, was and will be in Atlanta. There is no competition. Justin Fields will be the backup.

Aiyuk s very talented, but I would not give up a first for him. That contract also is going to hurt our ability to retain guys like Pickens. I prefer a cheaper option if one is available. What are your thoughts?

Good morning Jerry… Dan Moore gets a lot of vitriol thrown at him by fans and media, but from what I see he’s a solid teammate and helps the young guys who will someday replace him and take his job… He might be a little lacking in talent  but he’s what being a Steeler always meant!

He does not lack in talent. He has been a starter at left tackle, the most important position on the line, since Game 1 of his rookie season. People want to know why he keeps playing?? Because he's good. And when he becomes a free agent, some team will pay him a LOT of money.

gm Gerry, i agree with your point about paying Aiyuk a bunch of money having a future impact on signing Pickens.  I'd rather go cheaper on WR so we can pay Pickens eventually.  Any idea who Steelers are interested in on as a cheaper WR option?

Did you see where NE allegedly dropped out of the running for Aiyuk. Probably for the same reason no deal has been done -- the 49ers want way too much for him. And, hey, I don't blame them.

I’m tired of hearing about a trade for an overpriced WR.  I think one of the Steelers’ biggest weaknesses is defensive line, especially with the age of Cam and Ogunjobi. Wouldn’t we better off trading for DL? If not available, spend early round picks on them the next couple of drafts?
