Gary, you might be the most acerbic chat host but you are the most entertaining. One of the more maddening things for fans is the inability to pick up one yard which IMO comes down to the undersized offensive line, though athletic and good at blocking more in open space then moving the big guy in front of them.

If the Steelers like Austin, why not extend him for a year or two? It wouldn't cost a great deal and that will be one less receiver they have to add to the room in 2026?

Thank you Gerry as always for the chat . Do you think that Will Howard will miss all the training camp and Preseason ? Do you think he might go  on IR and Steelers will pick up another QB ? It’s very unfortunate for him and the Steelers that that this happened to him . We may never find out his potential as Steelers QB . Thank you .

He is expected to miss the entire preseason, but I have not been told how long he will be out after that. But I don't expect them to pick up another QB. I'm sure he will be back in time, but unless there are a rash of injuries you probably won't see him play this season. Don't fret, though, they will find out what he's all about

You can’t blame the Steelers of being complacent this off season. Aside from getting a legit WR2, I can’t remember another offseason being this eventful. I know HCMT recently signed an extension, but if this season results in another one and done in the playoffs or worse is a complete train wreak. Could this be the beginning of the end for Tomlin? If I were to answer my own question, I’d say no because of the importance the Steelers place on stability.

Hey Gerry - with all the camps you've covered have you ever found yourself rooting for a guy to make the roster?  Be it because of their personality or work ethic or something of that sort?

I hate to tell you, in all my years, I have never rooted for a guy to make the team. That being said, I have never rooted for a player to be cut, either. But there have been a number of instances over the years where I have been surprised when some players either make the team or get cut.

I need to see him play in games against NFL players before I would make that assessment. That being said, I think he has a chance to be a decent backup
