Good morning Gerry. Saw your article on keeping 4 QBs. Glad to see someone finally agreeing with me. Maybe Howard or Allar turns out to be the starting guy. Maybe Mason plays so well they resign him next year. Maybe they sell the farm to draft a perceived franchise QB. Nevertheless, they HAVE to keep 4 this year.

Hi Gerry, thanks for the chat!  How possible/likely is it that the Steelers keep 9 of their draft picks, with Wetjen & Heidenreich fighting it out for a roster spot? If not, who is the other drafted rookie who will struggle to make the team? RSJ? Rubio?

They didn't draft Wetjen in the fourth round to cut him. He's a lock. The other three you mentioned are not.

The Commanders just lost their LT to triceps surgery.  Would Omar be open to trading Jones to a LT needy team like DC?  Conditional 2nd and a late-round pick swap?

Gerry: Warren Sharp published a stunning statistic.  The Steelers 2025 defense ranked 826 out of the 830 defenses this century in 4th quarter stop rate.  They would have been even worse if Detroit didn't have a penalty which wiped out a late TD or Baltimore made that last kick.  This is a staggering level of ineptitude from the highest paid defense in NFL history.  Do you think the cause was coaching/scheme, poor conditioning, or just massively overpaid players who don't deliver at crunch time?

Hi Gerry.  Given all the talk of the wr 3 position, does it really matter who gets named wr 3 on paper?  I can see the wr 3 position becoming more of a 50/50 split between Wilson and Bernard based on the play call being that they have different skill sets.

No, it really doesn't. Three and four can be interchangeable, depending on the play call and formation

Gerry, Andy Weidl has done an amazing job with both the OL and DL.  Do you think they can focus on skill positions now.  I think a first round QB is possible now.
