Love the competitiveness of this Steeler group across the board. What are your thoughts on the WR position? Steelers have DK and a group of smaller WR's and some vets and then there is Roc Taylor and the intangible chemistry with QB's. How do you see this roster competition shaping up?

I think the only thing that isn't set is if they add another WR. Otherwise, it's DK, Austin, Woods, Wilson with a small battle for the other spot.

Gerry, how many more hold ins from players until it starts looking like the steeler's way of doing things these days is just roll over and show their belly. Will this open the door to have a player try and hold in every offseason?

That's why they can't give in on a new contract demand with two years remaining on an existing deal. They haven't in the past and they can't start now. And I don't think they will.

Is there some legit competition going on for NFL-caliber young WRs on this team, like Hurleman, Taylor, etc, or are they just going to keep 5 WRs who are obvious names and who have been on this roster before?

Good morning Gerry.  Is it still a winning formula to focus so much on defense?  The philosophy in the last a few years has been focus on defense with patch work offense and over the hill QBs.  Is there a clear vision to refocus back to offense in the coming years?

Well, I think they did that this year by adding Metcalf, Jonnu Smith, Gainwell and Rodgers. We'll see what happens.

Gerry, since Cam wants "more" millions of dollars, why don't the Steelers cut his brother and give him that money? I don't think losing Connor Heywood would sink the season.

Players such as Watt and Cam seem most concerned about being paid at the top of scale for their position. Meanwhile, Mahomes is not near the top for QBs but he is not complaining or holding out. Is that something that separates winners from losers and contributes to the Chiefs success?

Mahomes may not be anywhere near the top in average salary ($45 million), but no QB can even come close to the total value of his deal, which is $450 million

Hello Gerry.  We commit so much resources to defense and its been just....decent to good.  While DCs like Flores and Spagnolo have top 5-10 defenses without committing that much resources.  Dare we say it, Tomlin defense is not efficient enough?

Hello Gerry . Thank you as always for the chat. What do you think is going to happen in case of Heyward saga ? To me , if you sign a deal you stick with it . To say , I mentioned  that I will come back for a new deal if I have a Pro year , does not mean anything . It’s not written in agreement. Would you have returned the money if you had a bad year ? All you are proving is that Steelers made a mistake trusting you and giving you big roster bonus because now you don’t care about missing game checks playing on 1.3 million salary .If you give him the money , next year Watt will come back and say I am not making enough money now by 2026 average salary standard . I am disgusted by greed. Thank you

Very curious what your opinion is of the Cam situation from both sides of it.  An all time Steeler at the end of his career holding in as the team is preparing for an upcoming season vs organizational principles of signed contracts.  Im both disappointed and hopeful.  You?

It is not a good look for Cam, that's for sure. But he's doing what he thinks is best for him, never mind what he signed last year and how much the Steelers have paid him to this point in his career. But the Steelers have to worry about precedent, and I think they will
