Hello Gerry, thank you for your time and sharing your knowledge. Do you know what put Dotson in the doghouse or do i missread the degration to the second team OL?
Gerry Dulac
11:19
I think you might have over-reacted...along with a few others. He is and always has been their LG starter
TS
11:19
I hope Finney is ready to play, Turner looks bad.   Slow, misses assignments.   Good thing its only a 1 year deal.   Has anyone at Heinz Field been impressed with Turner?
Gerry Dulac
11:20
I need to see him in games but it wasn't like they brought in a Dave DeCastro-caliber player to replace Dave DeCastro. Far from it. And that's why they signed him to a one-year deal. Stop gap.

I heard something mentioned about players being allowed this year to wear numbers outside the traditional ones for their position. Can you elaborate?
Gerry Dulac
11:20
That is correct. For example, OLB Melvin Ingram is wearing No. 8

do you have any information what is dragging TJ Watt extension? Both parties need to meet in the middle sooner than later right?
Gerry Dulac
11:21
Probably money, terms and language...the usual holdups. I'm sure they will get it done. But I will tell you the Steelers are not going to mortgage the franchise for him.
Chris
11:21
Dear Gerry, wich players stand out after the first two preseason games and after some weeks of training camp? Thank you very much
Gerry Dulac
11:22
Dan Moore. Kalen Ballage. Shakur Brown. Tre Norwood. Mathew Sexton. Jamir Jones.

Can Green get stronger, or has he pretty much maxed out his strength for his size? Getting rolled on bull rushes aint a great start.....
Gerry Dulac
11:23
Give him a break. He's 21 and played two NFL preseason game.
Chris
11:23
If you would ask the players, would they prefer to have training camp in latrobe or in pittsburgh?
Gerry Dulac
11:24
The players prefer NOT to go to Latrobe. Not all of them, but the majority. Shame on them. They dont look at it as a treat the way fans and Latrobe businesses do.

thank you for your time!  Browns and Ravens offenses and defenses sound very good based on sports news.  Will the AFC North be dominated by offense or defense this year?  Sounds like the division games could go down to the wire this year.
Gerry Dulac
11:24
I think the league on the whole is dominated by offenses. The rule are designed that way.

Thank you for your time today!   I am anxious to see M. Rudolph look “varsity” in the preseason much like A. Highsmith has performed with his opportunities.   I like the completion percentage but Do you see improvement in M. Rudolph to show he can play varsity ball the next two pre season games or has he plateaued?
Gerry Dulac
11:25
He has not plateaued. I think the Browns season finale last year showed you (and them, more importantly) what he can do.

I'm seeing a lot of "are the Steelers disappointed in Devin Bush" stuff lately and I don't get it. Dude balled out his rookie year and got injured 5 games into the season last year when he was still playing at a high level and now he's working his way back from injury. What's the deal?
Gerry Dulac
11:28
That's because people are mistakenly reading into why Joe Schobert was brought in. It had NOTHING to do with Bush. It had to do with the weakness and lack of depth at the other ILB spot. And you know why Schobert is getting the green dot to communicate the defenses? To allow Bush the freedom to not have to worry about setting the defense and letting him play freely. Remember, they had TJ Watt wear the green dot for one game and they took that away from him because he was getting too bogged down with it.

Is Randy Fichtner coaching anywhere this season?
Gerry Dulac
11:28
Not that I know of.

11:28
Gerry, I think that signing Schobert to cover backs/TEs might have been the signing of the year.  He will solidify the middle defense and make the Steelers D one that most teams would not want to play against. Your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
11:29
I think it was very good trade!!

11:29
Who do you think might be a surprise starter?
Gerry Dulac
11:29
No surprises. Though it could end up being Antoine Brooks as the nickel back
Mfinn
11:29
OK, so you have seen Ben throw ok. What about Harvin?
Gerry Dulac
11:30
I see him punt

Are you concerned that Bush isn’t the player they thought when the moved up to draft him?  Will he be better without the green dot responsibility or will it be a bruise to his ego causing a fall off in his play. Love to know your thoughts on this one.
Gerry Dulac
11:30
Nope. And it won't bruise his ego at all, trust me.
kevin in Punxsy
11:30
Gerry, I read that Jacksonville agreed to cover 1/2 of Schobert's $7.3 mil salary for 2021.  Was that incorrect?  Thanks.
Gerry Dulac
11:30
Not half, a portion. It will still cost the Steelers $7.3 million against the cap

What would it take for Ben to get benched during the season for either of the 2 projected QBs behind him on the depth chart.
Gerry Dulac
11:31
I have never seen it happen in 17 years and I don't expect it to happen now

Chuks looked slow and passive as starting NFL blind side T against Eagles. Does that concern u and people in charge ?
Gerry Dulac
11:32
Nope. Compared to what? Slower than Al Villanueva??
Ryan
11:32
Good afternoon Gerry i think Haskins will be number 2 qb what do you think
Gerry Dulac
11:32
I do not think so. It's a tremendous leap of faith right now, and not an advisable one

Great work Gerry. Do we have a major problem with our rookie center being bull rushed ?
Gerry Dulac
11:33
Someone musta made a comment during the TV or radio broadcast about a bull rush because everyone is asking me. It's not a major problem. He is learning. It's the NFL, not Illinois. It's his second NFL game.
