Hey, it's up to them to prove they deserve a second contract. That should be cause for motivation, not anger.

Why is Meyer still the OL coach.? He has not developed anyone.  The two that they let go are viable linemen now with other teams.  He is as bad as Canada yet MT keeps him on staff.  Thank you.
Gerry Dulac
10:22
I'll let him know you think so. Before I do, I suggest you go back to 2022 and see how that line was the most improved unit on the team.

Hey Gerry, if the worst happens, and the Steeler's O-line continues to struggle as it has the past couple seasons, what are the offensive plays that we should expect to see happen? Are there options for a team that can't effectively block up front?
Gerry Dulac
10:23
Relax. It's the preseason
Jake
10:23
This offense needs to tear it up in game three of the preseason. But, we don’t won’t to show anything. When is this supposedly well oiled machine getting oiled? I’d hate to wait for the regular season to work on cohesion.
Gerry Dulac
10:24
Actually, that's really what they're working on now -- cohesion. And nobody ever said this is a well-oiled machine.

Do you think the Steelers are likely to keep an "extra" running back (behind Harris, Warren and Patterson) on the initial 53 man roster given Warren's injury or do you think they'll simply elevate someone from the practice squad in week 1 if needed?  Who do you think has the best shot at the moment to be that "extra" running back if they go that route?
Gerry Dulac
10:25
I do not. They kept just two RBs last season and that won't change. Patterson the kick returner can also be the third emergency RB. The only question is, do they plan to keep a FB??
Jake

What previous year in Steelers history does this current team remind you of?

Hello Gerry . Thank you as always for the chat. I know it’s only preseason , but looking at the Wilson and Field , you have to wonder at the capability of Omar Khan to perform as GM . If you would have just kept status quo last year and give Pickett and Mason one more year under Arthur Smith , one of them would have turned out to be the answer . Pickett would have stayed if you would not have brought Wilson and Mason was ready to be Pickett back up . Even Colbert said that Pickett was a great team guy . Now you have almost 40 year old who is a shadow of his past and a First round bust whose best attribute is always “ showing some flashes “ but never putting it together with different coaches in Chicago . Ohh but I can Fix him . I hope they do not trade away the picks for Aiyuk because they will be looking to draft a QB next year . Thank you .

First off, Wilson is 35, which is just as close to 30 as 40. And what you might think of Pickett is obviously not what the Steelers thought of Pickett. Where they miss the boat is with Rudolph, but, then, that has happened repeatedly over the years. Even what happened at the end of last season was not enough to change their mind.

Hey Gerry! Thanks for your amazing and real insight from the team! I simply cannot understand why the national media is setting us for failure after a meaningless dry run exercise/ game. I am confident Arthur Smith and the OLine players will get it solved (they did it last season). My only concern and question is do you see a similar adaptation period like last year (Oline didnot gel until the bye week)?
Gerry Dulac
10:30
Any time you have changes on the OL is takes time to jell. But look at the players they have brought in to be their starters/future -- all high draft picks.

10:30
What position do you think they should be most concerned about right now? I think slot CB needs to be addressed.
Gerry Dulac
10:30
If that is their No. 1 concern, then they should be OK.

Good Morning Mr. D....Best guess on who will serve as the Steelers back-up Center? or will it be someone not currently on the roster?
Gerry Dulac
10:31
Right now, it will be Anderson or McCormick, and I don't think that will change. They would love to get McCormick into the lineup.

Gerry, how on earth can Pittsburgh feel comfortable going into the season with the inexperienced crew and lack of depth at cornerback. There have to be tons of corners on the street right now to bring in
Gerry Dulac
10:32
Uh, they are actually better at CB than they were last season because Donte Jackson is better than what they had last season. Give it time, I'm sure you might see a CB added after roster cuts

why leave an injured broderick out there ? do they secretly want russ to get hurt again so they can go with justin ?
Gerry Dulac
10:33
Uh...no

10:33
What do you think is going on with Broderick Jones?  For the most part, he played very well last year.  Is this just a temporary setback in your opinion?
Gerry Dulac
10:33
He will be fine. But he was better at run blocking than pass pro last year, so maybe that has to be refined a little
Mikey C
10:34
In my opinion, the Steelers have drifted away from away from a proven NFL formula of player continuity and limited targeted free agents. Too many new offensive starters and still there are “gaps”. Are you of the same  opinion or is this too “old school”?
Gerry Dulac
10:34
I am not.
Arthur
10:34
Gerry, what do the players think when they are passed the ball 5 yards short of the sticks with five large, angry defenders blocking their way of that ever-elusive first down marker?
Gerry Dulac
10:34
I'm guessing they think ....'Oh sh**!!"

Hi Gerry, Despite all the Negative Nancy's in the national media... It's shades of '74 with a rookie center and linebacker... excellent defense, offense on the rise with a Pro Bowl QB, running the ball to control the game... it's just about a sure thing that we'll add a few Super Bowl trophies to the case in the next few years, isn't it?
Gerry Dulac
10:35
You are aptly named, my friend

10:35
If the Steelers do not obtain Aiyuk, do you believe they will pursue another #2 receiver prior to the first game or go with what they have? Thank you
Gerry Dulac
10:36
There is not another No. 2 receiver on the scale of Aiyuk they would pursue.
Laura
10:36
Good morning Gerry.  I recently saw someone wearing a Franco Harris jersey. I’m wondering if you know how his family is doing now.  Thank you.
Gerry Dulac
10:36
I do not Laura, sorry. I know everybody misses him dearly

Gerry With Warren Injured Does Jonathan Ward make The team or practice Squad
Gerry Dulac
10:37
Maybe the practice squad. BTW, Warren has a chance to be ready for the season opener. It's not like he's gone for 4-6 weeks

Broderick Jones didn't blame injury for his disastrous play, but he did mention his pregame routine.  Any idea what he might be referring to and could it be the solution to the mystery of how this guy's career has suddenly collapsed to where I am not sure how they could even put him in a game?
Gerry Dulac
10:37
Did you say collapsed? Must be a typo
Tim
10:38
Too much negativity surrounding our Steelers brought on by national media who don’t follow them closely.  It is preseason where our stars mostly have not played and our coaches have not game planned.  Relax, we are 0-0 and I’m hopeful for an enjoyable season.  Thx Gerry for this platform and your true insight.  Keep it in the short grass
