Mr. D...in your opinion, is JP worth the money that he's asking for? I like his play and I like the guy, but do you feel that we may regret breaking the bank at a position where "shut down" performance can vary greatly year-to-year?

I think Joey is a nice player and I like him, too. Kinda hard to "break the bank," as you suggest, for a player who has never made the Pro Bowl and is highly penalized. And those just aren't my thoughts

Gerry. I understand the need for Pitt play at Acrisure Stadium but why do the the high school teams have to play there and cause further damage to the field. Can’t they play somewhere else?

I think you and a lot of others are over-estimating the trade value of JPJ. Let me remind all that Mike Tomlin and Omar Khan rejected a ton of trade offers for their 32nd overall pick in 2023 so they could draft Porter.

Hi Gerry. I know the Steelers don't use the Franchise tag  a lot but they really have control over Porter this year and the next two. That makes Joey 3 years older than he is now. The tag would most likely come in less than what Joey actually wants. The Steelers have all of the leverage. Do you believe they'll use that leverage?

Yes they do have the leverage and it will be up to Joey to decide how he wants to proceed. The Steelers want to do a deal with him.

Gerry, I see Ramsey is back in practice but, in your opinion, should we move on?  His price tag is high and looking at the last game of the season with the ravens he was beaten over the top twice.  It feels like an Odel Beckham Jr. player where they are past their prime and taking up a roster spot

No, I don't. But, depending how things shake out this year, and maybe regardless of that, I don't think he will be back next season.

I can't answer that till I see them play for keeps. I think the DL should be improve and there's good depth at CB. But I need to see it first

I think the approach with the offensive line drafting has been good and smart.  But do you think they are a somewhat disappointed at this point where things stand or are they still in a wait and see stance?

Assuming JPJ decides to play once the regular seasons starts, how effective will he be? I know Watt did it OK after missing camp but this time for JPJ there is a new coaching staff with new defensive schemes.

GM Gerry. If the Steelers don't believe Howard or Allar is the answer at QB, I would take a round 1 offer for Porter, then package the two #1's to move way up in the draft to select the QB.  Thoughts on this scenario?

We've seen that happened before with guys who don't go through camp/preseason. But he has been here, doing some individual training, but nothing with team drills

How quickly Roman Wilson's star has fallen from a great camp. I'm sure he'll get a chance to redeem himself but have to wonder if Rogers will even bother to look his way given the patterns.

Hey Gerry. Great job as always. Can I state an unpopular opinion out loud and go ahead and say that the whole reason Heidenreich was drafted and this guy Tecza was signed was strictly because of where they went to high school. If they went to some random school in Indiana or Florida or wherever they'd never even have gotten a look from this team. Since when are the Steelers about drafting "feel good stories" ? Colbert never drafted any North Catholic grads. I thought the objective was winning, not drafting or signing novelty acts

There is a lot to be said for that because the Steelers have always given opportunities to local players, local players from small colleges, though not always in the draft
