No. But never say never

Gerry, what’s the Steeler record after 1st four games?
Gerry Dulac
10:54
3-1

Hi gerry, athletes going back to college after being in the pros, albeit for just a few weeks, is ludicrous.  I don't understand the 5th year option but I'm also wondering if these kids can get back into the draft???
Gerry Dulac
10:54
Yes it is

Aller and Howard may both prove to be very good draft picks, and still not the answer looking ahead. Both may be viable back-up quarterbacks, who can win you games looking ahead... and you will take that from a third and sixth round pick. With both still developing, four QB's may make sense this year, with drafting another in the first round next year also very likely.  Just reinforces how difficult it is to find long term solutions at QB in the NFL.

10:56
There are more misses than hits when it comes to finding a long-term starting QB in the draft. I think Howard has a future as an NFL backup. I think Allar can still be a starter, but I'll hold off on that for a while

Reports we are shopping JPJ are just click bait, right?
Gerry Dulac
10:56
That's right. They are not

Hello Gerry, does Howard make this team or not. Seems ridiculous to base his career so far on one half game of football.
Gerry Dulac
10:57
He does. The only way he didn't was if he played his way OFF this team. And I don't think that was the case. The Steelers aren't going to base their QB decisions on two drafted guys after 3 preseason games.

I'd like to see EVERYone play at least a little in the last preseason game. Even Aaron, TJ, Cam. Do you agree? Do you think they will? Thanks
Gerry Dulac
10:58
No I don't, on both fronts

Good Morning Gerry,  Great having these Q/A'S. Say, on the topic above on Omar Khan, wasn't the reason Rooney hired Andy Weidl and scoured what seemed like half the Country for a GM before that because Omar didn't gave the "talent knowledge" side of the game experience. He was a great Contract negotiator and numbers man. BUT, football wise not so much. Hence, the draft decisions and maybe less than stellar results should fall on the shoulders of the talent evaluators in the Organization. NO?
Gerry Dulac
10:59
Well, to a degree, yes. That includes the scouts. Andy Weidl's job is to put together the draft board. Khan and McCarthy, with input from Weidl and Art Rooney II, make the picks. It's not like Khan isn't part of the scouting process.

What do you think is going to happen with the JPJ situation?
Gerry Dulac
11:00
I have always thought they would sign him, but that's up to Joey

Gerry, I haven’t heard any talk about the 55 offensive plays being made in the 2 preseason games.  Did we hit that goal in either one of them?
Gerry Dulac
11:01
Preseason doesn't matter. Not real football, as Aaron Rodgers like to say

Dis you see today's New York Times article on the subject of CTE frequency in regard to pro football players?  Quite a price to pay for the love of the game (and some money).
Gerry Dulac
11:01
Yes I did. It's a brutal game

Good morning, Gerry! I believe the offensive line is the key to the offense success, and both tackle positions are iffy at best right now. Can Cook hold down the fort, or will he get Rodgers killed early on? Will Troy finally get comfortable at LT or is he having confidence issues that are causing some pre-snap penalties?
Gerry Dulac
11:01
I don't think both tackle positions are "iffy" at all.

Either Naval Academy guys have a reasonable chance at the 53? Appreciate your chats!
Gerry Dulac
11:02
Don't see that happening, but practice squad a good possibility for Heidenrich

Mr. D, the preseason circus aside, full of requisite flip-flopping on hot takes week to week, do we really take 4 qbs into the season? Let's say that one of the kids plays lights out in the final tilt... isn't it time to take a shot at succession? Mason is a good guy and a competent qb, but I think we know he will not be "the guy" ever.
Gerry Dulac
11:02
I think they really do!!
Alan
11:02
Any idea yet if the pass protection will be any better?
Gerry Dulac
11:03
Can give a better answer when I see a real game

The run game looks a little weak right now because of the O line issues. Do you see this problem going away in week 1 as the offense really has not opened the playbook too much and all of the starters have not had a lot of snaps together in a game yet?
Gerry Dulac
11:04
I would withhold any concerns -- or, for that matter, excitement -- until the games count. These don't, and any observations at this point are just that and not merited in reality

Good morning Gerry! Any word on how Max Iheanachor held up in practice yesterday? Is this going to be a nagging injury, or something that he is fully healed from?
Gerry Dulac
11:04
He looked perfectly fine to me. I expect him to play in Buffalo
Rahn
11:05
If the line can't protect and/or Rodgers gets hurt, what's the record this team could bottom out at?
Gerry Dulac
11:05
I don't play the what-if game
Sunner in Orlando from Lebo
11:05
Have you personally seen enough in practice from Rodgers to believe he and his receivers will be on the same page once real games start? Or will there be a slow start to the season offensively because they will not play together in the preseason?
Gerry Dulac
11:06
I have personally seen enough. You should be eager and excited to see them work, not worried
Bubby B.
11:06
Hey Gerry, who do you think will break Bradshaw's record of 4 SB wins for the Steelers first: Allar or Howard?

Why doesn't the team use the franchise or transition tags anymore?
