What's the difference if they have Duck on the PS vs on the roster?  He gets third string reps in practice and gets promoted if something happens to Ben.....

Big difference. They have to sign him to a different contract if he's on 53, but they aren't going to keep 4 quarterbacks on the roster

I think there's a good possibility they add a TE. In fact, I expect it. Because he was a draft choice, Gentry could make the roster as the third TE.

Gerry, always love your chats! Do you really think Switz, as much as they love him, is as dynamic a return man as Spencer? I hate to cut him but feel more confident in Spencer breaking at least one this yr. Any chance they could keep both as # 5 and 6?

It's very possible. Spencer was very close to breaking a couple returns in the preseason. I agree, he's more dynamic.

I meant keeping 2 QBs on the roster and the third (Duck) on the PS....seems like the same thing as keeping 3 on the roster since #3 is usually inactive for games anyway.....plus it frees up room to keep an extra position player on the 53
