Can the Steelers really make the playoffs with such a poor O line? These things usually never get better during the season due to injuries etc...and it looks like it will start off in a very poor state.

Of course they can. Give them time. They won the Super Bowl once with a not-so-good O-line. A good running back makes a line better

I think both are a very real possibility. They kept eight DBs, as of now, which is about two fewer than normal, so expect at least one and possibly two moves there. And they kept 6 inside linebackers so expect at least one of them to go when they add a DB.

Yes it is because they don't have a backup guard right now, which means it is likely they will bring back Finney, who does not have to clear waivers as a six-year guy.

DB for sure. Offensive lineman is highly unlikely. As for the starters, depends on Banner's health, which right now doesn't look good. Otherwise its 76-69-53-51 and either Dan Moore or Joe Haeg.

It does seem petty, if in fact I did that. But if you check you're wording I'm guessing there was something with the way you pointed up the mistake that prompted me to do so, if I did so. But because of you pointing up the mistake, I went back and double checked and came up with the correct answer. How's that??

Thanks for the chat. Given the numbers breakdown, I’m thinking Tuitt may begin the year on IR or PUP, with Allen maybe also going to IR. That might make room for a slot CB or OT to be signed. Thoughts?

They have plenty of ways to make room for a DB. I don't think they will sign an OT unless Banner is out longer than anticipated

Gerry..  I do understand Steelers being sensitive to Tuitt but at some point he is employed by Steelers to play football.  He gets paid tremendous amount of money to play football.  The show goes on and what is a few extra weeks going to do.  Death of brother will takes years

Gerry, It seems to me that Zach Banner will not be ready to start the season? Would the Steelers actually consider moving Dan Moore at left tackel or was that just a practive experiment? Will they look at the waiver wire to possibly fill that gap?

Agreed, but this week is still an experiment week. Next week is when the real stuff begins. But I don't think they will move Moore to LT.

Well, Finney did, but I expect that to change. Jordan Berry did to a degree because he outperformed rookie PH3, who failed to show off that supposed strong leg when it mattered. But the Steelers wanted to get rid of Berry last season, too, when they signed a punter who couldn't kick anymore, so I'm not surprised.

Don’t you think all the Mason Rudolph detractors are overlooking the fact that as a first time starter in 2019 he was working with a running game nearly as bad (29th in the league) as the Steelers had in 2020 (32nd) without any of the experience Ben was able to fall back on to try to mitigate its negative effects?

Gerry, have you ever seen 2 all pro players flush they career down the toilet any faster than Le'veon Bell and Antonio Brown? Bell remains unsigned, and Brown whom not so long ago was considered by most the best receiver in the national football league could't make the top 100 list in the last 2 years. If they could go back in time knowing then what they do know now, wouldn't they chose to stay with the Steelers? or are they as stupid as I think they are?
