Imagine you're Kevin Colbert. You know you are getting some comp picks next year. How high of a pick would you be willing to give up to solidify a position for this year and make a run? What position would you target?
Gerry Dulac
11:11
In case you haven't noticed, they already did that with Melvin Ingram and Joe Schobert
Jim
11:11
So it seems like Tuitt is injured, why all the secrecy around it? Just tell us so that we don't have expectations of having him start the season. Just seems really odd.
Gerry Dulac
11:12
Mike Tomlin does not have to reveal injuries or be specific about them until next week so he chooses to cite NFL policy and not tell anyone.
Jerry
11:12
Hey Gerry! Are the Steelers still running the Lebeau defense?
Gerry Dulac
11:13
Some of it, like the fire-zone stuff. But it's more Mike Tomlin's defense.
Jim
11:13
I really like Colbert and was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on the O-line. Great draft again, but after the cut to 53 we still have a dumpster fire for an O-line. What was he thinking?
Gerry Dulac
11:15
Two of their first four picks were O-linemen and they signed two in free agency -- Trai Turner and Joe Haeg. It wasn't ingored. But, as I have stated, let's just give it time.

The Steelers only kept 4 corners. They’ve gotta have more than that. Your thoughts
Gerry Dulac
11:15
yes, and I'm sure you will see that change shortly

Really enjoy and appreciate the insight of you, Ray and Brian.  Always on point.  Too much negativity from other PG writers about our Steelers for my taste.  To borrow from you, hard to believe that the paper pays the man/men.  Thank you three for great coverage.

Hi Gerry- From what you’ve seen…Do you think the Steeler offense will struggle with OC Matt Canada’s system early?…And if so, to what extent?
Gerry Dulac
11:17
From what I've seen, no, not with the talent on offense. But that's why they play the games -- to find out what you have or, in this case, what he has.

Could the Steelers look to sign a free agent tackle? Guys like Mitchell Schwartz, Rick Wagner and Russell Okung are still available out there. They all figure to be major upgrades to whats on the roster now.
Gerry Dulac
11:18
Depends on Banner's health. But I will tell you they really like Dan Moore

When do you see T.J Watts contract getting done?
Gerry Dulac
11:18
Very soon

Is it time to be concerned about: A) No contract yet for Watt, and B) His lack of preparation time for the regular season?  Thanks, and keep up the good work!
Gerry Dulac
11:19
What concerns me when any player misses all of minicamp and training camp practices is the player going from nothing to 110 percent once the regular season starts. That's when soft tissue injuries occur.

Gerry, our Oline has been in decline for the past 3 years…why wasn’t it made a priority earlier. This has a making of a bloodbath for Ben. Are we looking at another year of dink and dunk offense?
Gerry Dulac
11:21
I will repeat -- two of their first four picks were OLinemen and two were signed in free agency. I wouldn't exactly say the position was ignored.

Why does the O-Line situation feel like such a ****show this year? I love my Steelers & I always feel a sense of cautioned optimism because the Steelers continued success but something this year feels off, especially with the line. Am I wrong?

what was your biggest surprise Steeler move or non-move yesterday?

Any word on a TJ extension?
Gerry Dulac
11:22
Any day now I would presume.

With every spot being so precious on a 53-man roster, when did a designated spot for a long-snapper specialist become so sacred? I know it wasn't always this way. I checked and there was no designated LS on the Steelers roster before 1999. Is our long-snapper at least able to serve as an emergency offensive lineman if needed?
Gerry Dulac
11:23
Haven't you noticed -- the game has changed in those 22 years. It's the era of specialization
Larry Johnson
11:23
Any chance the Steelers extend Joe Haden or anyone else before the season besides Watt?
Gerry Dulac
11:23
Not likely at this point.

Gerry great work as usual. Do you like Moore left and Okafor right and has Green really been demoted or is this a Coach Tomlin special. We need to keep those down South in our prayers.
Gerry Dulac
11:25
The Steelers thought Okorafor was a better LT than RT when they drafted him. That's why they were confident moving him to the left side. I don't know why they would change. As for Green, I'll wait to the Buffalo game to see if there is a change.

Gerry-  Do Steelers value Ray Ray’s contributions to return game more than his scheme fit under Canada?  A number of better receivers hit market yesterday.  I would rather see them add a receiver that brings something to the offense and put 26 back on kickoffs and let Diontae handle punts.
Gerry Dulac
11:25
They have enough receivers who bring something to the offense!! How many you want????

Hey Gerry, What are your thoughts on the Challenge that Tomlin used in the Panther Pre-season on whether it was a fumble or down by contact?
The ruling was the player was down by contact and Tomlin challenged to say the ball came out before the player was down. Tomlin was right that the ball came out before the player was down but since a Steeler touched it after going out of bounds it remained Carolina's ball. Why should the Steelers and Tomlin lose a timeout and challenge even though they technically won the challenge?
Gerry Dulac
11:26
No, they didn't win the challenge

Hello Gerry, in your opinion . Who should start at left tackle ? Based off what you seen in camp and preseason?
