It looks like last years and possibly this years draft has produced 3-4 solid starters, perhaps a pro bowler or two at a time of tight cap and lower draft position. By NFL standards isn’t this excellent?5 stars to scouting?
Gerry Dulac
11:26
Yes, it's very good, especially on a 12-4 team

Gerry-  From what you have heard when did Tuitt hurt his knee?   What football activities have you observed him engaged in since practices commenced?
Gerry Dulac
11:27
He didn't engage in any.

Why would they keep eight on the DL when on most snaps only two are on the field? Even if Tuitt is injured it seems like one too many.
Gerry Dulac
11:28
They usually keep seven so they kept eight for now because of Tuitt's injury. But I think seven might be too much too. That being said, the D-line coach likes to rotate players to keep them fresh for the fourth quarter so he likes an extra body.

What are your thoughts on BB and NE cutting down to one QB?  Clearly they will add one or two in the next couple of days, but what if someone signs Hoyer before they do?  He's put all his eggs in the hands of a rookie QB who hasn't played one down of NFL regular season football?
Gerry Dulac
11:28
That's Belichick. Didn't you know he is smarter than everyone else??

I saw a video yesterday of Ju Ju doing the milk crate challenge.  That was a dangerous stunt.  He could have gotten hurt.  I think it was worse than his TikTok dances.  When will the antics stop?
Gerry Dulac
11:29
They won't w him

Good morning Gerry! Thanks as always for the chats. Do you think it was a mistake to release Big Al with the current situation at left tackle?
Gerry Dulac
11:30
They released Big Al because of the current salary cap situation. And his play, especially as a run blocker, was declining.

I assume there will be Steelers fans that think they should sign Cam Newton.  I don’t want them to sign him.  Do you think they should?

Gerry I keep thinking about Dotson last year sitting behind Feller and Decastro when he was/is the better talent albeit less experienced. Now it seems the coaches are taking the opposite approach by starting (it appears) Dan Moore at LT over more experienced but less talented alternatives.   For myself I say get the more talented guy out there and work around what ever short comings his inexperience has.
Gerry Dulac
11:32
Dotson wasn't the better talent last year. And this situation is different because it is forced by an injury. But that's why they are looking at Dan Moore as a starter and not veteran Joe Haeg.

Gerry, for such a smart team, how in God’s name can they have an offense line in this kind of disarray bereft of experience and talent in front of the guy who is our hope to accomplish our dreams? It just makes no sense and I expect better of them
Gerry Dulac
11:33
Experience, yes. Talent? That's to be determined. I think they think they have some good young talent on that line. Give it time (there's that expression again).

Just by pure roster position numbers you have to figure Tuitt and Allen to IR. Maybe bring Finney back. Have you heard anything along these lines?
Gerry Dulac
11:33
Good possibility

I was surprised at some of the roster moves, but realize they aren’t finished.  It amazes me how churned up people get about it, and think they would be better coaches/GM than what the Steelers have, which is ludicrous, is it not?
Gerry Dulac
11:33
Everybody fancies themselves a GM. You know why? Because of fantasy football

I've heard on several occasions that JuJu is nice on camera, but is incredibly different - not in a good way - off camera. Have you ever found any truth to this? He always has come off as a bit of a phony to me
Gerry Dulac
11:34
Some people just love the camera.

Were you surprised Ray-Ray McCloud made the team? Seems like they cut some guys with better potential as a receiver...and can't Anthony McFarland/Diontae Johnson return kicks?
Gerry Dulac
11:35
No I wasn't.

What do you make of the backup QB situation across the league, seems like it's not what it  used to be?  As a boy, when I first started paying attention to football 50 years ago, John U, Billy Kilmer, Sonny Jurgenson, just to name a few, were backups at the tail end of their careers.  Now, Dallas' backup is Cooper Rush.  They are in big trouble if he needs to go into a game.  Even ten years ago, we had Charlie Batch.  I think most Steeler fans felt good when he had to enter a game.  Most teams now, there season is over if they have to hand the keys over to the 2nd QB.

The average QBs who are employed in this league astound me. People don't realize how fortunate the Steelers are to have three quality NFL QBs. Some teams don't have one.
Well, that's all the time we have kids. Thanks for the questions.
