Thanks Gerry for the chats.  I realize I may get slammed on this but making Haden the top paid CB seems a bit much.  yes we need stability there, his leadership etc but top paid?  and why did it take so long...did he actually want more?

He is not the top paid CB in the league. He is the second highest paid in his career, behind Darrelle Revis. This is his fourth contract.

I’m not as concerned about TE depth as most seem to be. The Steelers use a swing tackle as a 2nd TE more than actually using another TE. Do you ever recall the Steelers utilizing many 2 or 3 TE sets? I can’t remember the Steelers ever really having a great 2nd TE. Maybe Spaeth, but he was more of a blocker.

They use two TEs a lot because they typically line with only one running back. In coaching parlance, that is known as "21." Don't forget, Jesse James had 30 catches last year. Not sure Grimble will catch that many.

I think that the thing that slants the victory towards the Steelers is: the left tackle (no experience) center (neither with very much experience).  Your thoughts?

Certainly sounds good on paper. I think that is one of the Steelers advantages.

do you think we could see samuels play more of recieving TE role considering his receiving skills. It could be a way to get him on the field with out connor coming off.

Such a tough opening game to play New England on their home turf. Even if we lose, what would you have to see from the Steelers to feel encouraged about what they can accomplish this year?

Win or lose, that first game will not dictate what happens this season. Long way to go.

Steelers are more talented top to bottom than NE. Why do we struggle with them so badly? If coaching and prep are such a difference maker why don't all teams prepare like the Patriots?

NE currently has OLine issues and, in my opinion, issues at WR. I feel good about this one. Is this just homer optimism?

Haha. I ask myself the same thing. You don't typically see a guy in his sixth year, who rarely plays, still on any roster.

With Andrew luck retiring the nfl Network said bc the Steelers play the Colt's that gives us the edge on the division.. do u agree?!
