Why not now? It's before the season and they can create cap space. And they know how their 53-man roster looks. When do you want them to do it?

Too early to tell. But he comes with a good recommendation. Can't judge him or the line till after the season.

I think it’s great the Steelers are retiring 32.  But, where do you stop since there were so many great ones from that era? Cook is saying do the same for 12.

Hey Gerry!  I was a little surprised with the Franco jersey retirement.  LOVE Franco and all he did for the Steelers (and the city) but I think it opens a door for others and thought they would stop with 75. Hard not to think 12, 7, 36, 52 and others won’t be next right?

It will be a long, long, long time before 36 and 7 are retired, if they ever are. Heck, they haven't even done 12, 52, 58, 47.

Thank you for the chats.  I know it is what it is but man Mason Rudolph has to feel like the least appreciated man on the Steelers regardless of what Coach Tomlin says.

He won't institute the Blount-Harrison-Ingram gambit but if anyone should feel like a hostage it's him (albeit a millionaire hostage).

Do you think he sees any game time this season?

Yes he does. But, as of now, he is only getting a uniform if one of the others get hurt or play just terribly.

Describe to me how our line makes it to below average but NFL functional level. It seems like the one piece that may keep us from being a competitive team.   Is there any hint that they are thinking about bringing in a starting quality piece for the OL from the outside?

The oline is such a concern.  Why wouldn't they sign one of the solid vet options in case Moore is awful.  You could put the vet at RT and Cucks to LT

I think they were thinking that when they picked up Jesse Davis, who started a bunch of games with the Dolphins. Not sure that's any kind of consolation, but it is some type of option.

No, he hasn't been wearing it since they tried it for one game as a rookie. There's a reason it lasted only one game.

Hey Ger Bear, super stoked for the game this sunday. My question is what was the most frustrating part about watching the steelers last year and how can it change? Personally it was the lack of intermediate throws specifically over the middle of the field, it would be so refreshing to see that.
