Any indication on whether Bush or Spillane will get more snaps on Sunday? Personally, I think neither is a good option and frankly both contributed to the horrible run defense last year.

Do you have any explanation as to why it's been so long since the Steelers addressed the o-line in the first two rounds of the draft? In particular, many tackles go in 1st and 2nd Rd every year. Do Steelers just not value them as much as many other teams do?

They showed a value for them in 2010-2012, but those guys are gone. It's time to go back to that mindset.

Well, his recent showing in the past three first-round playoff exits is not very good, not when you consider they have allowed 42, 45 and 48 points in those three losses.

Thanks for the chats Gerry.  You mention locker room availability so locker room question.  What is Bush like in the locker room?  Is he approachable? It just seems like he has lost some confidence on the field but clearly not off the field.  With all of the criticism  it has to affect him regardless of what he posts on social media.  I don't see it happening but I do hope he proves everyone wrong

Some guys show up routinely at their locker when the media is allowed in, others do not. I would put him in the latter category.

Gerry, with Kazee out for some significant part of the season why aren't we considering Haden as a bring back? Lots of top CB's transition to good safeties. Is Joe unwilling, not capable or is it personal now? Seems his market isn't exactly hot.

In your opinion is Pickett the best option behind Trubisky in week 1? I can't help but wonder if a Rudolph with his experience wouldn't be a better option if say Trubisky gets hurt in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game. I'm guessing Rudolph's experience with the team at this point means little to nothing? What say You?

I think he would be a better option right now as the in-game backup. His experience in those situations is invaluable

Well, we haven't even played the first game of 2022, but it looks like the 1st & 2nd round picks the next two year have to be O & D line picks.

Outside of four games last year, Burrow's numbers are pretty average.  He really does not run well outside the pocket either.  His strenght is staying in the pocket and waiting for those great receivers to get open.  The scheme should be obvious then.  You pressure him to death.  Are the Steelers good enough to do that, and/or are the Bengals good enough to stop them?

Now that the entire spring/summer/preseason has passed have you been able to gather any specifics on why Joe Haden is out of a job? I didn't see any major holes in his game at the end of last season. Was he grading out competently?

Theory for looking to. Ext season to run by you:  if Steelers cut (bc of mediocre play)  Jack & Bush, OL Greene, and perhaps DL (Ayala?) who is 35-36, and then in draft go T, G, LB, and then use free agent money for a few key pieces: edge rusher, Corner, Safety, seems like Steelers have rest of pieces to be a real contender again…next season.  How close do you think they are?
