Why hasn't anybody asked Tomlin about Vince Williams covering Josh Gordon? Last year his excuse was that he didn't have enough healthy DB's which was hogwash. I would love to hear what he could come up with this time.
Gerry Dulac
11:08
It was a matter of Brady seeing the Steelers in that defense and calling a play that matched Williams (exploited him?) against Gordon. I'm sure he was licking his chops at that one.

How bad was Kam Kelly in his first ever nfl start? He looked like he just came from the AAF. He was absolutely lost in pass coverage on both deep balls. Good job in run support but that's not enough.
Gerry Dulac
11:09
He wasn't Eric Berry, that's for sure
Tom
11:09
why did it seem that 90 pct of Ben's passed were within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage?
Gerry Dulac
11:09
I don't know about that. Others have complained he kept trying to throw deep too much.
Kevin

Why didn't Pitt get Rudolph into the game to protect Ben from hits in the blowout and to get Mason some work?
Gerry Dulac
11:10
They just don't operate that way. Never do. Ben always goes to the end.
Kyle
11:10
Why was Vance Mc Donald so ineffective vs the Pats? Any chance Pitt ditches Grimble who offers nothing?
Gerry Dulac
11:11
Because they used only one TE instead of their normal two. Made it easy for the NE to watch him. Again, another flawed use of personnel. If you don't like your TEs (Grimble played only 2 snaps and Gentry was inactive), then go find someone who can play

Ben should have had more reps with the receivers in preseason and training camp. Also what does Ryan Switzer contribute? He hasn’t done anything in the return game and isn’t much or a threat in the passing game.
Gerry Dulac
11:12
Mike Tomlin, who says you can't live in your fears, is living in his fears.

Gerry, I've had this recurring thought for the last few years, and it crept into my mind after the New England game: Given that the standard in Pittsburgh is winning titles, are these Steelers teams of the last few years going to be known for never accomplishing anything?
Gerry Dulac
11:12
With that as the standard and the measuring stick, yes. You are correct. That's a gold star for you
Luigi
11:12
Really!  We were not prepared.  I was so optimistic on this game.  I think AB is still in Ben's mind. Your thoughts.....
Gerry Dulac
11:12
Uh....no
Alex
11:13
Why was Hilton promoted to the 53 causing Pitt to lose Skipper? Seems like a huge error. Holton offered nothing.
Gerry Dulac
11:13
Bingo. Pay the man

Hi Gerry, Could you possibly explain why DM had more snaps than Washington? How did we become a team that cannot run the rock for a yard? Just run behind DeCastro it just makes no sense......
Gerry Dulac
11:13
He had as many snaps as JuJu too. Switzer had more snaps than James Washington. Something needs to change
Larry
11:14
Do you agree that for Pitt to have a successful season they must run the ball more than pass and play great defense? A pass 1st offense with this receiving Corp won't get it done?
Gerry Dulac
11:15
I don't agree with that, but they will need to run the ball better than they did in NE. Look, this team is built around Ben R, as it should be. He's your best player, the one who gives you the best chance to win, so the offense should revolve around him. Still, he is going to need to be able to run the ball.

Vance Mcdonald was hardly involved in the offense in week 1, was this because of the Patriots defense or Ben looking to other receivers.
Gerry Dulac
11:15
See earlier answer

11:15
The Steelers need to get back to what they do. It seemed like they were trying to be too cute on offense and defense. We need a heavy dose of James Conner
Gerry Dulac
11:16
They need to be able to run the ball better than they did, that's for sure. Did you notice than Ryan Switzer had more snaps than Conner?
RJT
11:17
If receivers can’t get open how do we expect them to be better this week?
Gerry Dulac
11:17
They will be better. They have to be. They can't be any worse
Fineline
11:17
Was McDonald blanketed the whole game or did Ben not see him? Seemed like they thought they could move the chains throwing 3 yard passes to Switzer.
Gerry Dulac
11:18
They were watching him.

Hi Gerry. Please tell me why Ryan Switzer is on the Steelers’ roster. Yes, can catch the ball - for a 5-yard gain. Seems like great “locker room guy.” But not a great return guy. We keep waiting for him to break one, while letting go an electrifying return guy in Dionte Spencer. Denver Broncos were happy to pick him up immediately.
Gerry Dulac
11:19
I don't have a problem with him on the roster. I have a problem using him for 46 plays, which was more than Washington.

Will we see more of Vance McDonald used in the passing game this week and is Moncrief in Ben's doghouse ?
Gerry Dulac
11:19
Ben said today he won't shy away from keep going back to Moncrief.

11:20
Gerry, will the WR step up this week and get the offense moving? And, yes prayers for the 911 victims. I was in Berlin, PA 2 days after flight 93 and my clients said it was like an earthquake when it hit the ground.
Gerry Dulac
11:20
Ugh. Terrible. As for the WRs, like I said, they can't get any worse. I think the Steeleers need a whole lot more of JW and the rookie from Toledo
Frisby
11:20
Do you think Ben is really slipping he looked old and off target. I watched Lamar Jackson last night, thats how ben used to play put the ball on target, now he throw it up in the sir and makes the WR chase after it. I think this should be his last year.... if he makes it through it.
Gerry Dulac
11:20
It's one game. Relax.
DaveInCincy
11:21
Gerry, how long do you think NE will keep the crazy WR after the latest allegations?
Gerry Dulac
11:21
Even before this, I don't give him much of a chance. He will NEVER change
