Thanx, but I haven't checked it. That comes later today.

The Ravens have had injuries to backs and the OL but they always seem to cobble together  a good running game. What’s the difference compared to the Steelers? Jackson? Backs? OL? Coaching?
Gerry Dulac
10:23
Lamar Jackson. And their scheme. Lamar Jackson would make you a better RB

It appeared DC Teryl Austin was actually calling the plays this past Sunday, which would be a major change involving MT relinquishing some control, perhaps for the better.   Any truth to this?
Gerry Dulac
10:23
That is your perception. Can't tell you if that's reality

Gerry what do you think about the play of Mitch trubisky against Cincinnati he looked okay need the offense to do better against the Patriots
Gerry Dulac
10:26
Look, I think y'all have been spoiled watching Ben Roethlisberger for 18 years. Yeah, it wasn't a masterpiece, but I didn't have a problem the other people seem to have had.

What did you think about the offensive line performance? For me it was better than expected, but still didn't open up any run lanes or give any time for longer pass place to develop…
Gerry Dulac
10:26
Really? Maybe in protection. Don't think you can say that about the run game

When will Steelers realize that they need to quit drafting shiny new toys & draft some OL?
Gerry Dulac
10:26
That will be this year

How can Najee, or anyone on Steelers coaching staff expect success with no blocking--seems like a waste of talent with #1 pick?
Gerry Dulac
10:27
Pay the man!

Does the unexpected win over the Bengals push the prognosticators to predict the Steelers have a winning season, or is that reading too much into it. Loved the win!
Gerry Dulac
10:30
Just one game. But it gives rise to thinking it might be better than what a lot of national people seem to think it will. Then again, they did the same thing in game 1 last year in Buffalo. It's a long season
Scuba Steve

Enough of the talk that Harris doesn't have anywhere to run. Warren, and undrafted rookie free agent, found a way to make an impact on the field anyway. Najee is quickly becoming like another first round running back from Alabama...Trent Richardson.  And that's not good!

Really??

How does Malik Reed compare in talent to someone like Melvin Ingram who was in this same role last year stepping in for injured OLBs? Is he just pretty good depth, or could he be a starter elsewhere in the league?
Gerry Dulac
10:31
Malik Reed is not Melvin Ingram, let's get that out of the way. He's a nice solid veteran. But don't expect him to be a game-changer.
Coach15
10:31
What was with #39 attitude & chirping all game?
Gerry Dulac
10:31
He was a bit fired up, wasn't he??
Cliff
10:31
Withe watt injury.   Do the Steelers go next man up or could you see some scheme changes
Gerry Dulac
10:32
There will be some scheme changes to make up for his absence. Mike Tomlin even admitted as much. Minimizing their weaknesses, is what he said.

The Steelers have not run the ball effectively through 2 OCs, 5 OL coaches, numerous changes in OL personnel, and several RBs. Is there a deeper issue here? How much time do the actually spend practicing the intracasies of the running game?
Gerry Dulac
10:33
Hey Saul, they practice the run game as much as they practice anything else, sometimes more. So it's not because of a lack of practice. So it can only be two other things.....
Coach15
10:34
Trubisky getting lots of push-back on not looking good, but how can anyone produce at that position when they have to be on the move--do they think that having a mobile QB will fix the blocking?
Gerry Dulac
10:34
It can only hide the blocking, not fix it
Coach15
10:34
Did anyone notice that when Boykin-Gunner pkg was on the field, except once, that they ran the ball--talk about being predictable?
Gerry Dulac
10:34
That has always been the case when certain WR personnel are in the game, in case you haven't noticed. Nothing new

10:35
Gerry as always thanks for the chat. You are quite the prognosticator! You not only picked the Steelers to win but you picked the correct score also. How many times have you done this in the past?
Gerry Dulac
10:35
It's happened a few times. But people really notice when I do it with the Steelers.

Most/all of us were frustrated with the Offense on Sunday.  Based on how the defense was playing, if the offense took a few chances, got a couple of more first downs, took a few more minutes off the clock, and maybe even scored one more FG, this game would have never come down to even Cinny getting a chance to tie/win.  We all have seen games where teams with a lead go into four corners and end up losing.  Should we expect to see more aggression on O, and I'm not talking about going crazy, but taking a chance on 3rd and 10 and pass the ball beyond the first down marker?  If we play tentatively, and you repeat that game 10 times in a computer, we lose it a lot more than we would win one like Sunday.
Gerry Dulac
10:36
I think, because they were leading the entire time, they were playing conservative, not taking chances, not wanting to give the game away .... even though that's what almost eventually happened.

Hi Gerry- HOF question. A lot of great players are overlooked, but why has Gradishar never come close to being inducted. The guy was great in college and then with Denver- he was a mainstay for that Orange Crush defense
Gerry Dulac
10:37
I can't answer that, but I will say I never thought he was a HOFer. Good player tho

Is the market heating up for Mason Rudolph with Dak going down and other QB’s underperforming in week 1?
Gerry Dulac
10:37
Not yet

Gerry, love the chats. On the FG Boswell missed Sunday it looked like he kicked it 65+ yards.  Curious the longest one you have seen him kick in practice?
Gerry Dulac
10:38
I said that at the time -- would have been good from 60. I've seen him hit it from 60 in pregame, but he doesn't really try much farther.

Now that T. J. Watt will be out 6-8 weeks, is it time to trade Rudolph to the Cowboys or the Jets for an Outside Linebacker or Rush End?
