OK kids, you got me a day early this week and we'll be ready to go in just a few minutes.
9:51
OK, let's get started....

Gerry: 2 games is a small sample size, but TJ now has no sacks for 6 games and 10.5 sacks over the last 20 games.  That is less than half of his sack per game rate when he truly was worth being one of the highest paid non-QBs in the league.  With $108 million guaranteed, is this new contract at least trending towards being one of those franchise altering disasters that sets a team back for half a decade?

Shocking you were waiting for me at the top of the queue.....You forgot he is credited with just two QB hits in that six-game stretch. The good news about his contract, and even some of the others on that high-priced defense, is the league salary cap is large enough to not cripple the team. That will happen when they have to hand out one of those $250m contracts to a quarterback.

Hello Gerry.  I learned something from Sunday's post game press conferences that I am embarrassed to admit that I didn't know.  In order to win (or not lose), the Steelers need to play better.  Did you know this?  Thanks.
Gerry Dulac
9:54
I did not either. Glad I sat in on them. I'm smarter for it.

Gerry:  They may have no solution for Brod Jones, but is it time for Spencer Anderson to replace Seumalo?
Gerry Dulac
9:55
You're looking at the wrong guy on that line.

Gerry in saying that the Steelers defense would do historic things, their coach is:
a) clueless
b)delusional
Gerry Dulac

I'm kind of leaning toward B

Good morning Gerry.  So once again, overconfident, arrogant, entitled Steelers.  Different players same outcome.  What is the commonality of this "hysterical" defense?
Gerry Dulac
9:57
Charlie, maybe you've had too much of that item for which your town is named. It's Ok, it's only two games. Take a deep breath and let's wait a little more

Gerry: on the Kaleb Johnson play, the only Steeler that tried to get back to the ball was Jabrill Peppers.  Tomlin was quick to blame Johnson and say they go over things like this "everyday", but isn't it a simple conclusion to draw that Peppers was the only Steeler that knew what to do because he went through camp with a different coaching staff?
Gerry Dulac
9:58
That is what they call adding 2 and 2 and getting 5

Hey Gerry, hope all is well! Why leave the middle of the field wide open week after week? Opposing offensive coordinator’s gotta love playing the Steelers. Middle of the field and read option is almost a guarantee. Your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
10:00
Well, you can't cover the entire field when you want to make sure the deep sidelines aren't left alone. But, to your point, yes they probably do.

Last season Warren ran harder than Harris but Harris got the majority of carries. The Steelers just recently extended Warren. It is clear after only 2 games that Warren runs much harder and is a more punishing runner than Gainwell and is just as good if not better out of the backfield.  I believe it’s time Tomlin and Smith recognize this and treat Warren as their true bell cow back. It’s really obvious!
Gerry Dulac
10:02
Hate to tell you this, but Warren is the lead back, the bell cow back, the man, the show. And it's so obvious I shouldn't have to tell you.

Did Sunday expose we need another bonafide WR? Could no one get open after they doubled DK?
Gerry Dulac
10:02
Was it just Sunday?

Gerry:  The old standard may be the standard, but is the new standard that every first down incompletion must be followed by a run to set up 3rd and 9?
Gerry Dulac
10:03
Don't stop 'em, he's on a roll.

Aging players in any sport have a difficult time admitting they’re no longer the players they once were but coaches should definitely recognize it. I believe Tomlin’s comment on this defense being so great was based on the names on their jersies and how they played in their prime. They’re obviously not who he thought they were! He should know better. It’s time he and his coaches are held accountable.
Gerry Dulac
10:04
I'm going to give them a little more time before I jump in on that one. But I will, for your reference, point up the cases of Hines Ward and Troy Polamalu

Do you think the next generation  Rooney will be more active regarding the head coaches results and future?
Gerry Dulac
10:07
Are you suggesting Mike Tomlin will still be around for the next generation??
Gerry
10:18
What do you think about the play of Jack Sawyer he looked good when Highsmith was Injured Sunday so did Herbig also who starts if Harmon Can’t play Sunday since Loudermilk got Hurt
Gerry Dulac
10:19
I thought Jack Sawyer looked good. Lot of pressure, couple good plays. Not bad for his second game. Black or Daniel Ekuale will start if Harmon isn't back. Still not sure if he will be

Gerry - certainly the oline has been below the standard but it appeared on each of the 3 sacks Sunday that ARod had plenty of time to throw and just held on too long. Agree?
Gerry Dulac
10:20
There were a couple coverage sacks/pressures, yes.

How many games until Aaron Rodgers is seriuosly hurt? He never seems to have a clean pocket
Gerry Dulac
10:21
No he doesn't, not when the O-line always back-steps in protection. Right off the bat that shrinks the pocket.

Any hope the defensive lapses are from bringing in a lot of new players, not getting reps in the preseason, and just not having gelled yet?
Gerry Dulac
10:22
That is more than just reasonable, that is probably spot on. But we shall see.
elcid97
10:22
or did we just get a bunch of guys a year or two removed from their primes and the talent isn’t there any longer regardless of scheme?
Gerry Dulac
10:22
That might be more than just reasonable, also.

The game has long gone past Tomlin and his coaching and drafting techniques. Bragging about never having a losing season is like saying you’re a top-notch student because you never flunked a grade. When is Rooney going to come to his senses and do the right thing for the deserving fan base?
Gerry Dulac
10:31
Tomlin has never bragged, nor has he ever even mentioned, his non-losing season streak to my knowledge. And I severely doubt the game has passed him by.
