Good morning Gerry.  Can you give up to the Monday night show.  For 2 weeks I have not been able to find it.
Gerry Dulac
10:32
970 am or go to iheart.com web page and search for Fox Sports 970."

Hi Gerry.  Was that Barry Bananas Foster on the disastrous kickoff blunder?  Special teams needs some work outside of the kicker and punter.  Your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
10:33
Hopefully that was a one-time blunder, but, that aside, the return unit has not been very good.

#95 looks like a player that should be cut.  Do they make a change on the DL?
Gerry Dulac
10:33
He has not played very well, that's for sure. Year 3 and he shouldn't be regressing

Did it seem like Arthur Smith called a good game like we saw the prior week? Sure, Rogers was running for his life due to our leaky O-line but all I noticed was how open Seattles receivers were and yet our guys never seemed to be open.  I make up this was less about talent, and more about our game plan.
Gerry Dulac
10:34
Don't you think we saw a lot of that last year, too?
Captain Midnight 50
10:34
In your opinion, do you think Our D coordinator on the Clock??
Gerry Dulac
10:35
No, nor should he be. It's Mike Tomlin's defense and schemes.
epiballo
10:35
Gerry! Thanks for the chats! You stated in your article that the defense gave up 30+ points in the first two games since forever. But didn't the D only give up 24 points? Special teams gifted the Seahawks with the other TD.
Gerry Dulac
10:36
Just looking at the total points. That's like saying the offense didn't produce points when Chris Boswell (special teams) kicks a field goal

I like Muth a lot, but he does seem to get a case of the dropsies at inopportune times.  What’s going on there?
Gerry Dulac
10:37
He's entitled, but that one at the start on the deep throw stings a bit. And he knows that

You know it was a bad day in the Burgh when you finish a round of golf at 11:00 in Maryland an the club house is packed with drunk Raven fans laughing at the Steelers.
Gerry Dulac
10:38
Are you suggesting Ravens fans drink in the morning??
KJ
10:38
Gerry, thank you for the chats and your work covering the Steelers for us fans.  This week, should we pencil in season best games for Drake Maye and Rhomandre Stephenson of the Patriots?  We have already seen that happen for Fields, Hall, Darnold, and Walker.
Gerry Dulac
10:38
Haha. Might be worth watching....
epiballo
10:38
Gerry. After two games, should we be listening to the angst of the fans that the sky is falling, or follow the lead of Aaron Rodgers to just relax?
Gerry Dulac
10:38
Relax. Relax

10:39
We never should have let Brian Flores walk.  He should be our DC.  Thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
10:39
He would still be executing Mike Tomlin's defense
KJ
10:39
What changes can Mike Tomlin possibly make that will improve his "historic" defense?  They have already surrendered nearly 800 yards of offense and 63 points in 2 games?  Like you wrote yesterday, this isn't a "rollercoaster" so much as it is a "free fall" charting the past seven games.
Gerry Dulac
10:42
I don't know that they need personnel changes, other than getting Derrick Harmon in the lineup and getting Porter and Elliott back from injury. But that's no excuse, either. That's why they brought in all the players they did during the offseason -- to improve their depth. Harmon will be a big help, though
Dan from Cleveland
10:42
Actually I meant you Pgh sportswriters bragging about non-losing seasons.
Gerry Dulac
10:43
Ahhh. Well I don't. I think I mention the eight years without a playoff win more than I mention the non-losing season streak. By far

Hey, remember when Barry Foster did the same thing on a kickoff as a rookie against the 49ers? He went on to be a pretty darn good player. Just hope the fans are cutting the kid some slack.
Gerry Dulac
10:44
Sure do. I don't think Johnson's mental gaffe will define his career. Even if he doesn't pan out -- and I think he will -- that won't be the reason.

Saw a cool new broadcast feature in a college game. The TV audience heard the conversation between referee and replay officials during a challenge. Even showed the replay officials, any  chance the NFL would allow this.
Gerry Dulac
10:45
I don't know, but that would be cool (I think).
KJ
10:45
Why did Mike Tomlin bring in an actual great defensive mind like Brian Flores (as evidenced by Minnesota's defense last year and so far this year), then relegate him to assistant linebackers coach (or whatever title he had) and not tap into his defensive intellect to improve Tomlin's flailing schemes?
Gerry Dulac
10:45
There were reasons he was hired for one season
KJ
10:45
Did you see any improvement from the OL from week 1 to week 2?
Gerry Dulac
10:46
I think Broderick Jones was modestly better. Too bad my friend Tunch Ilkin isn't around, God bless him. Jones could stand to learn the Tunch Punch and use his hands
Ryan
10:46
Gerry - who was the Steelers best draft pick since TJ Watt was drafted?  I think the only pro bowler they have picked since TJ was Kevin Dotson who they of course got rid of.  How is it even possible a team cannot draft one pro-bowler in seven or eight years?
Gerry Dulac
10:50
He was not a Pro Bowler with the Steelers. Najee Harris made the Pro Bowl as a rookie. Diontae Johnson made it one year as well. But I get your point.
Mac
10:50
Best Steeler with under 5 years of experience?  I see no legit young talent on this team, no young difference makers, no future pro-bowlers.  Maybe Harmon will be one.   Maybe Fautanu will develop.  But the drafting and scouting continues to be awful in general.
Gerry Dulac
10:51
Joey Porter Jr. Fautanu. Frazier. Peyton Wilson.
Steve
10:51
Gerry, I see 9-10 wins in my crystal ball-4 against the Browns and Bengals and one each against the Dolphins, Colts, Vikings, Patriots and Bears. What say you?
Gerry Dulac
10:52
I say you are probably right
