I don't know, but if this keeps up....It's why, in addition to drafting how they did, the Steelers needed to get a starter-capable DT/DE in free agency. They wanted to sign the Jets' Javon Kinlaw but he signed a big deal with the Commanders and lost out.

Why would the Steelers not look at the injury history, the age, and the career of his brother who kind of hit a wall physically shortly after age 30 or so after having similar injuries, and not be much more hesitant to give TJ Watt a massive 4 year deal as he approaches 30 years old?

The 3rd and 19 touchdown pretty much seems to sum up what this defense is. Can’t get off blocks, running around blocks and very poor angles. Lack of aggression and very poor practice habits. That’s on the head coach! Just my 2 cents

They looked either tired or disinterested on that play. It wasn't as though some gaping hole opened on a blitz and Walker rank straight through to the end zone.

Watching the replay, it took the referee about 6 seconds to signal TD on the Johnson boner. I’m not even sure he knew the rule off the top of his head. Maybe we need to give the kid a break.

When is Tomlin ever going to be held accountable for this disaster.  He sits at the top of triangle and has final say over roster, coaches, etc.  Yet media always points to players, asst coaches, gm as the cause.

Recognizing Joey Porter was out, the entire starting secondary was comprised of nothing but free agents.  Still would have been the case had DeShon Elliot not been out as well.  What does that say about this organization's ability to draft and develop DBs?

Changing Teryl Austin isn't the answer, player need to play better.  How much of the defense is even Austin's?  He might be the D-Coordinator, but from what I hear Tomlin micro manages it!

Tomlin doesn't micro-manage the defense. It's his defense and his schemes.

What does a typical week of practice look like?  Do the coaches spend time coaching technique?  Or do they assume that they all pros and should have that buttoned up?

They do, but the time for that is training camp. Now it's all about game plans and Xs and Os.

Over the last seven games including the playoffs they have given up on average 155 rushing yards and 29 point per game.  I haven’t seen a stretch of defense this bad since the 80’s. Those defenses had very little talent and this one supposedly does. Is it coaching?
