There have been some very large soft spots in the Steelers DB coverage over the middle of the field that have been exploited the past two weeks. This has gone on for a number of years. We always hear that the Steelers DB coverage is only as good as the OLB pass rush. Can we still blame this weak DB coverage on a not so good pass rush, after seeing how well the OLBs played Monday night? Or is there a schematic problem with Coach Tomlin’s D?

Tomlin likes to safeguard the sidelines and prevent the ball going over the top. The sacrifice is the middle of the field. That's part of the reason.

What do you think is going on with Najee? Do you think he just doesn’t have the mindset to attack downhill the way Samuels does? Are defenses playing the two RBs differently?

Well, I think defenses prepare more for Najee than they do Warren because he is the starter and a focal point for the offense. Don't forget that. No defensive coordinator (yet) is putting a red number on Warren in their game plan. But Najee does have a different mindset than Warren, whose mindset is see the hole, hit the hole.

The run defense has badly regressed compared to the 2nd half of last season, is that more about Heyward missing, playing two good running teams, or is 2 games just too small a sample size to really assess this issue?

Yeah, I think the latter, but there is no question they are last in the league in rush defense for a reason. And two 60+ yard runs already is not good.

Much respect for the Rooney family, but what on earth was Mr. Rooney thinking when bringing back Canada?  It was obvious last year that he needed to go.  And will he finally step in and mandate hiring a top-tier coordinator at the end of this season?  It’s so frustrating that Tomlin won’t do that for no apparent reason.

Actually, most coaching decisions are up to Mike Tomlin, not to say Art Rooney II couldn't step in and tell him what to do. After all, that's how Arians was let go. But Arians didn't have a year remaining on his contract so the Steelers chose to simply not rehire him. Canada had a year remaining on his contract.

OK kids, we're out of time. Thanx for the questions. Sorry I can't get to them all
